Does anyone know if the game history previously kept on Bungie.net will continue on Waypoint with a different API? If not I’m wondering how this will affect sites such as www.halotracker.com and www.bigteambattle.net which use the existing API to track stats for players and games in order for their systems to function.
This would be really nice to know.
URK Posted in Bungie API Group. Bungie will not be getting new data, so the API will be serving up old data until they completely remove the API.
So, I am very concerned. I fired an email off to 343 already, so fingers crossed!
Yeah, I really hope there’s a replacement because some fan sites (like your own, Xorth) depend on that data.
HT xorth we are following up on this as well, if you wouldn’t mind, posting back if you hear something, I will do the same.
I am with Halo Community, btw.
343 have some catching up to do.
I’ll post word when/if I get it.
I sent off an inquiry as well on behalf of our community. Hopefully one of us will receive good news
Just thought of something else: is there any chance that stats will be retroactively tracked if a new API is put out for use? If not there’ll be a dark zone of missed stats between now and whenever that changes (if ever).
I thought I mentioned this but I guess it didn’t go through…I moved it to the Waypoint section since it’s website related, not specifically Reach.

343 has all the stats currently, so I’m guessing it would be
I guess I hadn’t thought about it. I take all of our stats for granted but without them I’d be very sad.
Not just warthog stats either
Waypoint needs a more detailed game history for firefight and campaign so creating custom challenges are easier. If I try to create a “kills of an enemy” custom challenge I am forced to look at my game history on bungie.net to make sure that I am selecting the correct enemy type.
Nothing really to add… Just posting my concern and hopes that current stat tracking will be available somewhere.
When Bungie fully hands over the reigns of Halo Reach to 343 on March 31st, will the Halo Reach stat API still work?
Inquiring stat websites like HaloCommunity want to know
Hard to tell. Let me look at the Halo: Reach Stats API group on B.net to see if there is an answer for you.

I really hope 343 continues to support some sort of stats API as I have a free mobile app that uses it. It would be a shame to lose access to all that stat tracking data and have to take the app down. Hopefully someone will hear some good news.
Thanks!
I think my question is now, will 343 provide a stat API for Reach?
I’m guessing by your “HC” that you recognize that this could be a big deal.
There are many fansites (including GrifballHub) that use the API to pull stats from Bungie. It allows us to run leagues and tournaments where we automatically compile the stats from the games. Our players really appreciate it!
I hope 343 has something similar in the works that will allow us to automatically pull the stats and store them in our own databases. Not including a stat API would really be a step down from what Bungie offered us.
