Reach split-screen issue

There is an issue in Halo Reach, in split-screen, where there are small render distances. Things will “pop,” or render, into view closer to the player than they normally do. For example, in forge world with 4-player split-screen, things like: weapons, vehicles, crates, and sometimes other players will only be rendered if they are less than 10 feet away. My question is: Will this be fixed, or at least render increased, for the MCC version? I host game night every few months and this is always an issue when we want to play Reach.

Halo 4 had a very similar issue and it was still present in the MCC. They did a little fix to make it less obvious, but it still occurs. I’ve also noticed this issue still remains in Xbox One X enhanced games (Red Dead Redemption comes to mind) … I know there’s a difference between the ports and enhanced emulations, but this leads me to believe that, if neither 343 nor the back-compat enhancement folks, can solve the rendering distance issue, then it must be a pretty tough one to crack.

After thinking about it for a minute, I realized that the render distance issue should actually be tied to Reach’s game engine itself. With standard back-combat enhancements, game engines are not updated, or at most improved on, at all. It all really depends on how much of the game they are going to have to open up to port it to MCC. Still though, it would be nice to get a post-rerelease patch that fixed the issue, but that is unlikely.
