Reach ruined Halo for hardcore halo fans.

for starters, the story didnt really tie in. Halo reach took place before Halo CE, so my question is, where did all those “nifty” gadgets in reach go while halo ce was happening? jetpacks, dmr, the reach assault rifle etc? it all just dissapeared/downgraded graphical wise? it makes nooooo sence. AAs are rediculous, the new guns arent halo. why is this game even considered a halo game?

Well all of that was prototype stuff that got destroyed with Reach. But I’d rather not think Reach ever happened and just replace it with TFoR. And how does inconsistencies in the canon affect hardcore gamers?

because it doesnt feel like a halo game. for me ive been around since Halo 1. i wanted to break my reach game after my 3rd matchmaking game, and my 2nd campaign level. its not Halo. OG halo players i promise you dont like this game. the spartans dont feel like spartans, the guns are NOT halo. its just not a halo game

I’ve been playing CE since it came out and I consider Reach to be a Halo game. It isn’t Halo: CE 0.5. It’s Halo Reach. Every Halo game had new game mechanics and Reach is no different. Just because it doesn’t play like the others doesn’t mean it isn’t a Halo game. Basically your argument states that Halo 3:ODST wasn’t a Halo game because there were no Spartans at all.

no thats not my argument. my argument is that reach wasnt good, at all. AAs ARE NOT HALO. a grenade launcher, NOT HALO. the needle rifle??, NOT HALO AT ALL

So because Reach wasn’t good, it isn’t Halo? Well that clears things up.

yes, that is exactly my point. Halo is and will be when it is over, the best game trilogy/duo trilogy ever. reach/wars was a major setback

Reach was made for ‘everyone’ as a goodbye from Bungie. You hardcore idiots need to stop acting like you are at the top of the food chain.

i’m a hardcore halo fan and reach didn’t ruin halo, it may have gone badly but with some adjustments it can be put on the right track fairly easily.

also, whether you like it or not, reach is actually alot like CE was and people say CE was the most competitive out of all the halo’s, oh the irony…

true true…

I’m a “Hardcore” Halo fan, and I still like Reach.

Halo: Reach was made to be be Bungie’s goodbye from Halo; and they wanted to make a game for everyone that they believed played true to the original experience of Combat Evolved.

Is there probably less here than other Halos for the hardcore competitive? Yes. But the whole point of Forge and custom games is that you can tailor the experience to your own liking.

I’m a hardcore Halo fan and Halo: Reach didn’t ruin Halo for me.

Also, Halo: C.E. came out 10 years ago. That explains everything.

I’m a huge Halo fan, and I think Reach is the best Halo game.

If jetpacks, holograms, invincible shielding and cloaking don’t mix well with genetically enhanced humans piloting 800lb exoskeletons that “walk” at 30mph and jump over 6 feet in the air, all the while fighting each other and squid-faced aliens on ancient alien constructed worlds, then I don’t want to wake up.

ranking system is all that was needed and no bloom that solves every problem

Reach didn’t ruin Halo. It is only doing what it was programmed to do by Bungie.

Opinion doesn’t equal fact. I happened to like Reach.

Absofugginlutely agree lol.

Maybe people will throw out my argument, simply because I didn’t play Halo from day 1. But Reach was the game that got me into Halo. I’ve gone back and played CE, H2, H3, and ODST and quite frankly, I still think Reach is one of the greatest Halo games. Simply because it was made as a gift to everybody from Bungie.

Sure, it could use a few tweaks, but I still love it!
