I am curious to which game i should be playing to prepare for Halo 4? I know here recently tournaments have been supporting Halo 3 not Halo Reach. Which game is going to resemble Halo 4 more?
I have an answer:
THERE IS NO POINT PRACTICING
Sorry but it’s unsure. There’s no point.
CoD… JUST KIDDING
Probably Halo Reach.
Erm… Reach’s custom games would be best, I guess. Change the settings to a more Halo 3-ish style, and play with AAs.
Thats the closest I can think of.
Don’t practice at all. Halo 4 is going to be different; practicing using another game will cause you to pick up faulty habits.
I would say play Halo 3 since it requires more skill than Reach, that said though Reach has sprint and AA’s, then again strafe is a viable tactic in Halo 3.
Depends on what your happy playing i suppose.
Halo 4 will be it’s own game, but in terms of gameplay, use Halo 2 and 3 to practise multiplayer, since 343 have already stated it plays similiar to those. Reach is good to practise DMR, I would mix it up a little.
Thats an interesting question because its looking like Halo 4 has a lot from both. Movement and jump height are going to be similar to H3 but it has sprint and a default function now. Also AAs are back and H4 uses hitscan which H3 didn’t have. So the best answer I got is to play a healthy mix of both?
But then again I personally wouldn’t worry about it as I’m confident H4 will have a feel that’s different for either of them.

This is the most true.
Really, just play the campaign until you’re used to the new control schemes. If you’re still sketchy about playing online, do Spartan Ops. Hopefully Halo 4 will have a system making teams of the same skill level, so you aren’t crushed or don’t completely obliterate. Skill will come…
Play Reach in Team Arena or MLG. Duh.
Practice using YouTube watching Halo 4 gameplay, that we’ve seen, and loads of gameplay from brilliant players on YouTube. Trust me, it really helps and you learn a lot of new tactics which become very useful during gameplay and matchmaking.
Execute these new skills using Halo Reach as it has a much larger population which will give you more practice time, less time searching for games. Try using playlists like Team Slayer (general gameplay), Team SWAT (headshots) and BTB (vehicular gameplay and long range shooting). Hope this helps!
Neither, practice by stealing the private beta.

Were it so easy…

If I could use Halo 2 to practice Multiplayer, I would.
