Reach On Xbox One

Let me start by saying I get going from most games at 60 fps is obviously going to make 30 look really bad but Halo Reach running on the xbox one with the backwards compatibility program runs so poorly (especially in campaign and firefight) there are times when it appears the game goes well below 20 fps…and no I don’t mean when a ton of things are exploding, I’m just talking about moving while shooting a DMR. Also in campaign the music and sounds will just randomly cut out and cut back in. It is game breaking. I don’t think 343 is responsible for putting the game on xbox one but I don’t know where else to express my concerns. Please people fix this, I loved Reach and I really want to play it on the Xbox one running normally.

I agree something went reallywrong it need fixed

You’re not alone. Reach is absolutely broken on the Xbox One. Frame rate drops below 20, the graphics look really fuzzy and bad, and the game/sound crashes when playing split screen.

Fix this, Microsoft / 343 !

Is this not the xbox one emulating the 360 software to play a game that is 5 years old and, being a Halo game, was likely fine tuned to work with the 360’s hardware? I really cant imagine they can do much, some titles do get totally -Yoinked!- up when emulated. Maybe they could do something about the fuzzy graphics, but I imagine the crashes are going to be par for the course simply due to it being an emulation.

It was like this on day 1 for me, everything seems mostly fixed now, except for a few weird textures.

So much for the superiority of the Xbox One, my 360 runs Halo Reach better XD

Becoming better now, still not convinced, may just use the 360

I played it for 3 days my conclusion is that xbox 360 runs it better, when shooting your fps drops to 20 or lower in campaign or firefight when loads of enemies are spawning in it drops to 15 or below slayer/swat/infection were unplayable for me bc of how bad the choppyness messes with my aim and eyes

Because your 360 will be running it natively, your X1 is doing its best to emulate all the API calls. It will get better over time with updates, but it’s likely not going to run better than native

I just tried playing split screen Co op in halo reach on the Xbox one and about a minute into the first mission the game crashed entirely. I tried loading up firefight after a quick reboot and after signing both profiles in the loading stopped and the menu froze. This really needs to be fixed.

It’s happening the same issue with Gears legacy games, the real problem is with -Yoink!-, the BC is just an emulator. Still need to be fixed.

How can you play Reach on XboxOne? Did you receive a token? For gears of war I received tokens.

It came out on Xbox one backwards compatibility not too long ago. As long as you have the game you can download it or insert the reach disc. Prepare to be dissapointed with the quality though. Reach can barely run on the Xbox one. I kept hitting below 15 frames per second on multiple levels and split screen just crashes the game entirely. Makes me wish I still had my 360.

It’s in fact unplayable. 30 fps now feel like slow motion

30 fps is possible to play on once you get used to it again, but when the game drops to about 20 fps, well it’s just horrendous.

My main issue is I can’t even seem to play split screen on xbox one without it saying that “Their is an issue with your xbox live account!” …

My Halo Reach won’t work on my Xbox One anymore… I don’t know whats wrong ;-;

Same! I tried to open it and it kept crashing and freezing

It’s nearly impossible to play “Halo:Reach” on the Xbox One, it plays at 20fps & it lags a whole lot when playing online. I would’ve thought they would have fixed it by now, but I guess I was wrong, looks like they won’t fix it until the next Xbox update in the fall of 2016, probably.

I’ve had issues with it right when it became backwards compatible but it hasn’t been to bad recently even on split screen. Not quite as smooth as the 360 but almost there.
