Hello,
Hopefully some of you have answers to my questions:
- Is Reach still using P2P servers, or are there now dedicated servers with XB1?
- When I play online on my XB1, am I possibly playing against others on the 360?
- Were any changes made, other than the frame rate and resolution items?
- Are there any other changes coming?
Thank you.

Reach still uses the same P2P model it had when it launched, there haven’t been and aren’t likely to be any updates to add dedicate server support (short of the game getting some kind of anniversary treatment)

Yes indeed. Reach on the X1 is playing the exact same game you play on your 360 - you’re really just running the 360 game on an emulator

Not that I’m aware of, pretty sure just stability stuff to ensure it performs as good as it can on the X1

There’s not been anything announced but there is always the possibility that Reach could get enhanced for the Xbox One similar to how Halo 3 has been. It might not happen though
Thank you for your response and information.
The Halo 3 enhancement that you speak of, is that on the MCC version, the 360 backward compatible version, or both? One and the same? What are some of the main enhancements?
It has been so nice to be able to play with a guest again. Halo 5 killed it for my wife and me due to not being able to play together. Since she, my brother, and I like Reach, it has been so fun to play together again. We like Halo 3 too, but it seems so dated to play now. It is similar to going back and playing 007 Goldeneye on the N64, not as bad of course, but good hell is Goldeneye unplayable now!
Thanks again!
The Halo 3 enhancements are only for the backwards compatible version of Halo 3 on the Xbox One X - MCC is a separate game, you can’t match up with MCC players when playing back compat titles. There’s a comparison video here on IGN you might like: http://uk.ign.com/videos/2017/10/23/halo-3-xbox-one-x-enhanced-vs-xbox-360-comparison-high-ground-map
The best quote I could find on what was updated was this:
> Some titles now have 10-bit color depth unlocked where they previously had 8-bit, others have HDR lighting enabled, and all have nine times the on-screen pixels.
Worth noting that MCC will be getting a rather substantial update next year to both resolve the issues it has faced since launch and also add it to the list of Xbox One Enhanced games. It will likely be running at 4K like the other enhanced games.
Some awesome news and good info to know. Thank you.
Another question, Reach keeps telling me that I don’t have the DLC maps, but I’m almost certain I’ve downloaded them all in the past. Furthermore, I’ve clicked on “yes, take me to the marketplace” and scrolled thru all 106 downloadable items and all map packs have a check mark by them.
What am I missing? Do I need to download them again?
I figured it out by going into the game hub and downloading all of the “owned” content. It all says installed now.
Sorry OP, missed your question last night. Glad you got it figured out though. Happy Halo’ing
