…is so boring alone. For the last couple of games, I’ve tried to pull my own weight in Invasion, but alas, it’s futile with god awful teammates. How is this remotely fair that I, go 20+ and beyond, while trying to capture the phases, fare against a decent team of, say? 3, or 4 people, or even 6, while my teammates stare at the enemy, trying to snipe with their AR/Plasma Repeater?
I’ve been a lone wolf since the early days of Halo 3, my skills have brought me so far, while seeking out new challenges. Until Reach came, I’ve became frustrated over and over again with terrible individuals who can’t play for their life. After meeting someone online who shares the same skillset and interest, we became the best of friends, dominating the enemy team, combining both our skills to devastating effect, but she hasn’t been online for almost a week, and it gets so boring carrying the team to victory. Going 30 plus just doesn’t appeal to me anymore, it’s becoming more of an chore trying to win games and maintaining a decent K/D in the process. No wonder why my friend gets frustrated with this game, and yet I persist her to join me.
She hasn’t been online in the last couple of days and my mind grows concerned as time ticks on. Sorry if this sounds like a blog, playing alone is frustrating most of the time.
You’re playing invasion. Alone. There’s your problem.
But seriously, invasion is a team game. It’s one of the best team-oriented gametypes I’ve ever seen, actually. It’s not one where you can go in and expect to do all the work. If you don’t have a few friends who are willing to play, I’d suggest sticking to the other playlists.
If you need teammates, though, head over to the recruiting section of these forums. You might just find that some people are willing to help out.
I realize that now. I can’t play TS anymore, because of AL, bloom, etc. Super Slayer is pretty much the same, except that it’s TU. Hell, I used to be varied when it came to many different playlists, but I went into a straight-out casual since I started play Living Dead, Invasion and SA more recently.
Meh, it seems like I’m expected to do everything because my teammates have no idea what they are doing half the time. I usually have communication issues when I play with other people, I seriously can’t play with a party of 4, 6 or even 8, it frustrates people that I’m too nervous to speak. I think I might take a few weeks off from Reach. I can’t keep playing like this. Thanks for the advice though.
You should have played with me today man. I played one game on one of the new invasion maps and went 43/13 AND half my team had quit after the first phase. As soon as the game started two people on my team left. We lost the game but when half our team was gone nearing the end me and the other two guys pretty much knew there was no way we’d win so we just focused on kills.
There’s one thing I don’t understand - why do people always quit after the first phase? There’s still another half of the game left to go you know!
I have to agree with what has been said above. Invasion is a team-based gametype, you need a fireteam(s) that you can coordinate with. This is why I started my group. You ever need someone to play with, my gt is oxide117.
There are many playlists in the game other than TS, SS, Invasion and Infection, you know.
If you’re trying to avoid Armor Lock, how about Arena, or Team Swat, or Double Team. You’re also less likely to end up with terrible teammates in those playlists.
Searching alone is often less fun. Usually I’d give it 2 frustrating games before switching to something like infection, multiteam, action sack where teammates aren’t as important.
There skill doesn’t really matter come tier 3 because on every Spartan defense map, the Spartans just camp the Core with Shotguns. There’s also the fact that the time limit is too short on Tier 3.
I do agree with you though.
When I’m playing alone I stick to Rumble Pit/FFA/Zombies or something solo. I can’t handle getting paired up against a team of 4 Inheritors and I get 3 recruits ANYMORE.
