I created this thread so that 343i can see our complaints about certain playlists, gametype settings, etc. But don’t restrict yourself to negative posts! Tell 343i what you like too so they won’t remove it!
I really love Reach matchmaking as it is now, but there are two things that bug me. I was a huge infection player, and loved it when 343i added some new variations of maps. But then I got pretty PO’d when 343i removed Sword Base and replaced it Spooky Base. 343i also did this with other maps, making infection a really boring playlist now. The other thing is the lack of a true DLC playlist. What we need is a DLC playlist that includes Noble, Defiant, and Anniversary maps, all together. Because until we do, 343i is basically robbing us of our $15.

I don’t have any complaints, but I do want to know if 343i would ever again consider community maps for Invasion playlist. I started on one before Halo 4, but stopped from finishing it because Halo 4 came out. Since then nothing has ever emanated from 343i to indicate that they would be updating the Reach playlists…
343i, if you read this, could you please just say, “yes” or “no” to whether there may be any community maps considered for the Reach Invasion playlist?
I thought matchmaking was for all games.

Noooooooo worries! I’ve been re-reading all the forum guild lines trying to do my part in keeping things clean and in the right spot while I brows the forums.

That aside, I think there should always be a little support for the older games if it really needs it. But would have to be something big since Halo 4 is taking a lot of work to maintain at this moment.
I really wish they would fix the population counter. I think Reach matchmaking is good right now. The only thing I would really like to see at the moment is dlc playlists. I don’t care if the population in them is like 30 I just want there to be dlc playlists. One little thing I would also like to see is them add the game mechanics for Super Slayer as an option for Team Slayer, because Super Slayer is sadly kinda dead right now.
Long ago in the weekly bulletin 343i promised Reach fans you would continue to support the game by consolidating the playlists once Halo 4 launched to create a more streamlined experience for Reach fans. I feel 343i has turned their back on dedicated Reach fans and I hope this is remedied.
Here is a bullet point of six simple changes that will streamline matchmaking. I tried to narrow down the list I made as much as possible to make it more applicable.

Remove the TU, uniting all competitive and evolved playlists back under competitive. The majority of ‘Reach purists’ would prefer this, and as an overall design philosophy it is better to have a consistent gameplay experience across the board.

Bring back Squad DLC.

Bring back Firefight Limited as a dedicated playlist under its regular name ‘Firefight’ with a generator defense variant as one of the voting options. Important note, restore the firefight load outs in Firefight to the default firefight load outs. Default firefight should always be the first voting option.

Split Firefight Arcade into its own playlist.

Remove all Invasion Skirmish game variants and all the smaller maps that support Invasion Skirmish from the invasion playlist. Add the DLC maps that are not in the invasion playlist for invasion slayer (highlands, breakneck, and ridgeline)

Playlists that should be removed to consolidate the population are as follows: Super Slayer (obvious because hopefully the TU is removed), MLG, Team Snipers, and Double Team.
I’d like to see Team Classic,Action Sack and Squad Slayer back but limit the grenade’s to 1 per person.If i remember correctly Squad had the most grenade spammer’s I’ve ever seen in a playlist and that was really annoying.If anything id really like to see Team Classic back i liked the remade maps like Midship,Elongation and Lockout.Classic was my favorite playlist.
Reach matchmaking is fun, but there are days where armor ability spammers and banshee spawn-killers really ruin Reach for me.
Still, it’s part of the game.
Anyways, I wish they would add a voting slot in each playlist for community maps. New maps would really revitalize Reach.
It also would be incredibly nice of 343 if they put back the DLC playlist in.
It’s ridiculous if they ask you to pay money for something only to take it away forever.

Honestly, I couldn’t stand community Invasion maps. They felt pretty bland to me, which in a storyish based mode is kind of down-putting.
All I want is a DLC playlist. All maps required, all gametypes.

I would of thought that War games Forum is soley for Halo 4 Matchmaking.
