I played plenty of Halo: Reach. It did plenty of things right. Maybe not everything, but some things. A couple of things that kept me coming back were the Credit Jackpot Weekends and the Daily/Weekly/Monthly challenges. I’ve been thinking, if they were implemented right, they might have a place in Halo 5.
Here’s a short list of pros and cons that this kind of system could have.
Pros
-Campaign, Arena, and Warzone challenges would encourage people to branch out into each of the game modes.
-These would make the grind for rank and REQ packs a lot less grueling of a task, whether the reward is XP, RP, or standard REQ packs.
-Variety of challenges would encourage players to try new playstyles, and make gameplay less redunant.
-Different challenges could yield better rewards depending on the difficulty. For example, dailies could yield a Bronze pack, weeklies could yield a Silver pack, and monthlies could yield a Gold pack (just as examples).
Cons
-The challenge system could encourage boosting (which is virtually unavoidable).
-This could encourage a less “team-oriented” playstyle.
What do you, the rest of the community think? Could this be a good thing, or could it bring nothing but death and destruction to us all? Maybe both?
