I mean the screen looks really smeared and washed out now. Halo Reach had these deep hues and colors, now my screen looks like it was smeared with vaseline. Its not just the bloom lighting, its the blur everywhere.
I made a post on this matter too and tbh I’m pretty conflicted on it. Both the pre-bloom sharpness and the blooms classic look have their pluses. I seriously think there should be a toggle put in the graphics settings so that people can choose how the game would look for them rather than just having the bloom one being the default.
There’s nothing wrong with having the option. It has made visibility very poor in Reach because they actually went too far and gave it too much blur. I played Reach when it released in 2010, but I actually like that they got rid of the blurriness of the bloom because it makes visibility better and honestly makes the game look better on high-resolution displays… So if you like it, that’s great. For everyone who doesn’t, there should be a toggle.
I really need the option to disable Lighting Bloom, honestly I prefer Halo Reach the way it was before, I liked it better, and it didn’t make me rub my eyes thinking I’m seeing blurry from looking at the monitor for so long.
While it’s something that was in the Xbox 360 version, it’s not something I particularly missed.
I really hope they add an option to turn it off if we don’t want to play it like that.
100%, it’s a blurry mess right now. It looked good on OG Reach with the same values as they’ve probably have set it to now, but that ran at 720p 30fps with heavy motion blur.
I think the best solution to make everyone happy would be a bloom slider so that you can adjust the intensity of it at your will.
I did a ticket about it and currently sent screenshots etc, hopefully they do bring in a slider or toggle for it, really hate playing with screen looking like someone rubbed vaseline on it
A slider option would be a good idea to keep everyone happy
reach on the 360 looks and plays great with bloom off, motion blur off and fxaa off + 90* fov for player and vehicles, you just get a bit of ghosting due to the bad AA implementation but gets reduced with fxaa disabled. it’s like so much more enjoyable now.
