OK, Halo reach isn’t apart of the trilogy, but its in the franchise, lets keep it at that.
OK… down to business
Personally i feel that this thread is a joke, reach is in no way better then the ORIGINAL Combat Evolved for one huge reason. Halo Reach is not the original. Let me brake it down, see on halo reach we are something we know and have a understanding of being while halo combat evolved, hell do you remember the days when you used to feel, when playing that 1st ever campaign? the fun as a you dispatched new enemies with sufficient skill? I DO, AND THAT IS WHY NO GAME AFTER COMES close Halo Combat Evolved.

Apparently, trilogy is another word of series nowadays, considering there’s CE, 2, 3, ODST, Wars, and Reach. I blame society.

Lol Reach is the worst Halo. Although I still play and enjoy Reach, it is by far the worst of the Halo series. You obviously haven’t experienced enough Halo to realize that. I respect your opinion though and I have mine.
Personaly I prefeer Halo 3 (Multiplayer side), not a great fan of all the load outs etc in Reach. Im not saying Reach is a bad Halo game, just that I think Halo 3 is/was more enjoyable online.

Halo Reach is the 4th Halo game (actually the 5th, if you count ODST). Soooo xD

It’s a piece of crap and it needs a huge over haul but obviously 343 just doesn’t want to bother with it.
In my opinion, Halo: Reach has the worst campaign story out of 'em all. A Spartan has a skull sketched into his helmet? What the ****!
And Halo 2 and 3 are above Reach when it comes to multi-player. Again, that’s just my opinion.

WHAT?! Reach can’t be better! That would contradict the ‘cool’ opinion for people on the forums that Reach is the worst game in history! If you like Reach, that means you’re a noob because all the ‘true fans’ say Halo 3 is the best!

Yeah, I’ll agree with the basic premise of this thread. So far I’ve enjoyed Reach the most.
Except for the maps. Reach maps sucked for the most part. The anneversary maps are the best thing to happen to the game, as well as th reduced bloom gametype.
Other than that… I thought the campaign was highly playable. Firefight is always a blast. I’d prefer a more consolidated Matchmaking experience. Sure variety is the spice of life, but I think there are far too many playlist options… Forge is great- really reminds me of Marathon, being able to create actual maps. New gametypes and armor abilities are great for when you want to use them… a little lame that we HAVE to have them in so many lists.
Graphics aren’t as good as H3, which is weird. But they’re good enough. Music isn’t as epic as previous installments, or as moody as ODST, but those are minor.
But overall this is my favorite Halo, which is saying something now that Anneversary edition is out. Old Halo with new graphics is ridiculously cool.

I wouldn’t say that they necessarily don’t want to bother with it (just look at the effort that went into CEA.) More likely they’re too afraid of the backlash that fixing a broken game would find itself confronted with as you rob kids of the short-cutted gameplay Bungie originally -Yoinked!- us over with which the little idiots have grown dependent on.
But that’s the way of waiting a whole -Yoinking!- year to patch the game. Even the more egregious -Yoink- (the banshee’s fuel rod gun) becomes unassailable only because most of the people left have become accustomed to it’s filth, and would rather put up with more than adjust themselves yet again.
