Its is its number 4 ( last time I checked ) in the top most played games on XBL. A one year old game is still beating it.The Tu did not help it at all. And we have just entered Q4 of the year and Reach’s Population has barley reach 500,000 a day and big games are coming out like Skrim, MW3,etc. And I know most of you guys don’t care about population but still its getting harder to find games.
My theory is HCA is not going to help at all. The population will continue to drop until it is to 100,000 players a day. This game will suffer heavy loss until Halo 4.Battle Field 3 and Batman Arkham City are awesome and will take me away from this game ( finally ). I’ll come back but Reach is the most hated Halo game. I still love it but at times it feels like I’m playing the same thing every game.
you are playing the same thing every game, same for other games.
sadly you are right, other and better games are now out but CoD can stay at the top and hold a good population just so i don’t have to worry about screaming kids as much in other better games.
The TU was not supposed to help the population, it was supposed to fix things that were truthfully imbalanced (like Armor Lock). More on topic, fourth out of about two thousand is still a helluva good placement. I don’t see why it’s so bad that Halo went down three places after being at the top for three years. While Halo still is a blockbuster series, it’s safe to say that it’s been superseded by Call of Duty. While it was certainly controversial, demographic evidence will show that competition - not Halo’s suddenly unpopular reception - is why it’s in fourth place.
COD’s appeal to casuals does not compare to Halo’s innovations. Justin “Tool” Beiber had number one hits. Does that make him the all time MASTER of music?
Well that is how the market works. You make other games to have other people come and play that game. Reach is going to die out someday. And with all the new games out, it is basically taking other people away from reach. Its going to happen. It is happening. But that is how the market works. People want new, and reach is just getting old. Most people think it has been a year, but in technology time it has been like 5 years. Games are getting better then what bungie came up with. So by the time halo 4 is out, reach will be gone.
I would like to make a “Hated” multimillion dollar earning game that after a year remains in the top 5 on xbox live and retains a 100,000 people that play it a day despite an ever increasing list of great games that it has to compete with. But Ive always been an underachiever.

Doubt it… it didn’t even drop when black ops came out.
