So, I was just wondering how long it would realistically take for me to get to Inheritor. Would I be able to get to it before the servers shut down? And if so, how should I go about doing this? What current modes would work good for cR? (Captain Grade 3 at the time of writing,)

While its possible for you to get Inheritor before the servers shutdown it would be extremely grindy and you would have play Halo Reach on a loop for a year straight. If you were further along in ranks it would be a less grindy but Captain Grade 3 is not even 2 percent of the way to max rank.
To put into perspective, if you played reach for 365 days straight you would need to average 54,000 cR per day. The best way to get credits is challenges, firefight, swat. Hope this helps.
Only way to get it is by boosting in griffball. But it is cheating and boring imo. Ff doesnt give much credits. Living dead has always been a good playlist for cr but i dont think the population is high enough to get games quickly.

Yeah, that helps a lot! Thank you. Although, it seems I might not make it to there before the servers shut down, so maybe (assuming the rank system stays) I could get it later.

If I remember correctly, there was (do probably still exist) a glitch which causes all daily and weekly challenges to reset when you restart the game which in turn means that the same challenge can be completed multiple times in a single day. However, I’m uncertain if the glitch still exist as I have played Halo Reach since I reached the rank Inheritor (approx. 1.5 months ago).

Agreed. Even then, I doubt OP is playing every single day for 3-4 hours.
OP, if you were further in rank (Nova or maybe even Noble), it would be more doable, albeit grindy. But hey, if you want to run the gauntlet, I say go for it. You’ll need about 19.7 million credits from your current rank, so good luck.

Yeah, I’m beginning to see it’s entirely unrealistic. Maybe if I’d started when i got the game a couple years back, but probably not even close now. Oh well. If anyone wants to play, let me know.
Hi OP,
I was actually just thinking about this and I have another thread similar to yours. Honestly, I doubt the ranking system is going to stick around if the servers that support it are being dismantled. There would be no way to track the progress as the device that tracks it has been taken out of commission.
I believe this is also why the armor customization is being removed, as this is also handled by Bungie’s old servers rather than the generic Xbox Live system. I could be completely wrong, but this is my understanding at least. I wish 343 would have offered more information along this line.
Statistically speaking, you can reach Inheritor from where you are currently in about 3 months. But to do that, you would need to max out the daily credit limit of 200,000 each day. Needless to say, it will be a grind. You’d be looking at several straight hours of gaming a day, assuming you don’t have school, work or other obligations to fulfill. I reached Inheritor a few years back and it was a very time consuming experience. Best of luck to you!

Keen. Add me.
