Hi 343 Industries,
I am a member of the Queensland University of Technology’s eSport community manager team. QUT was the first university in Australia to launch an eSports program with the goal of building social connections between university students and providing a pathway to professional participation into the eSports scene. We currently have 27 PC’s set up in our arena and we use a program called ggLeap to manage administration of the PC’s, where students can walk in and play socially with one another, train in various games together, and see our semi-pro team play and compete together.
My role at QUT eSports is community manager for Halo. I have been a long time fan of the series: I took my first steps on Alpha Halo on my cousins original Xbox back in 2003 where it introduced me to my passion for gaming. My goal as community manager for Halo is to introduce other students to Halo and build a social community around the same world that inspired me all those years ago.
In light of the coming release of the Master Chief Collection on PC this year, I was wondering if it was possible to get in contact with you in a more official capacity to bring a flighting build of Halo: Reach to our eSports arena during our university orientation week between the 15th and 19th of July? We would love to have Halo: Reach allow new students to be introduced to what QUT Esports is about and begin building a larger social community around Halo.
If you would like to get in contact with me further, please feel free to contact me on the forum or message me directly over Xbox Live.
Kind Regards,
Ben.
