Please give all the 360 Halo Reach players there blue and red flaming helmets, don’t just give them out. The HARDCORE Halo fans paid $150 for Legendary edition and it would completely ruin the exclusivity of the helmet. The blue flame helmet is owned by people who also were at Halo and are long serving fans. Also the UA Multi Threat armour which was pre order bonus. Reward loyalty, reward the hardcore fans. It should be really easy as the original DLC is attached to the accounts and just to transfer over to MCC license. Reddit and Waypoint is covered in hardcore Reach and Halo fans who are anxious they will lose their Flames and you will give it to the mass. Don’t make the mistake, keep it exclusive. Please 343.
As someone who had the red flames, I think its ridiculous to want these armor effects to remain exclusive. Halo 3 in the MCC has already released the bungie chest plate for all to use and I think the same should be done for Reach. I wouldn’t mind if these armor effects are difficult to unlock, but never making them available to anyone who missed out or didn’t want to fork over $150 sounds like a good way to snub new players.

13 year old me saved my money and extra chores for a year when I found out this game was going to be Bungie’s last ever Halo game in preparation for a badass Legendary edition as Bungie did a killer job with Halo 3’s Legendary edition, the hype was insane for Reach and you might have forgotten. I don’t think you can defend MCC’s implementation of the bungie chest piece, that game was rushed out so quick they did not even add customisation, let alone unlockables. 343 is in a better position now to be able to focus on these details.
Reach has a hardcore fanbase, people still play to this day because of the love of customisation. They need to reward the fans of the brand.
There is no longer a need for that exclusivity. You spent 150 bucks on Reach, you have your flaming helmet in Reach. You unlocked the blue helmet in Reach, you still have it in Reach. You pre-ordered it and got the chest piece, you still have it on Reach.
You have what makes you one of those few in Reach (360).
MCC: Reach is a fresh start, a NEW chance for everyone to obtain and unlock, so that those who weren’t playing back then, also can feel like they can have a shot at this. It’s a new Reach, your old prides and glories won’t carry over to the new version. I have both the flaming helmets and pre-order goodies, sure i had them for 9 years, so now it is time to let others have all options available. Reach will play as Reach, regardless of what you have that others do not, be grateful for the game coming back again and don’t make unreasonable demands.
As for that reward speech at the end, you’re getting back Reach multiplayer for free, is that not reward enough? They didn’t have to dish that out at all but they did, because they care about their fans.

Who is going to play 360 Reach now its moving over MCC? This will be the best version of Reach forever now its moving over to Xbox One and PC and it will be the best experience of Reach.
Red flaming helmet is called eternal for a reason, eternal means showing admiration, gratitude and also lasting forever. How is it an eternal helmet if it was made redundant after 9 years? Not sure why its fun for everyone to be equal and look like each other.
The original Reach had a Legacy page to show stats: https://i.redd.it/u66az2jqmhgz.jpg Mcc could at least do something similar.People pumped over 100 days game time into Reach, Bungie knew the importance of showing off your dedication to the game.
Unreasonable demands? This is something so easy to do and would make more players happy than annoyed.
Yeah I believe enduring a broken MCC is for over 3 years is definitely good compensation for Reach multiplayer, and I will be buying the campaign too!

I disagree with the OP. Unlock everything from the start just like the other Halos.
I spent $150 on Reach for the statue and because I wanted to support Bungie. I couldn’t care less if everyone and their mom runs around with the red or blue flames. Give them to everyone so we can all look however we want. Customization should be based on what we think looks good, not based on what we think other players may not have.

The Reach armory is all unlock on the release of the MCC version?

I hope so,don’t want to grind all the way to Inheritor again😢
I agree that those of us who obtained our flames back in the day should have the moving forward into Halo Reach for MCC. Seeing someone with the red or blue flames was special, now more than ever with how few people who play reach. Flames set you apart from everyone else, if you ran into someone with flames you knew that they are serious about Halo and are dedicated to the franchise. I’m not against giving new players a way to earn the flames but just allowing anyone to use them would be a slap in the face to all of us who have been with Halo for a long time.
I think letting us keep our flames but allowing players to unlock these via a similar way that the Military police and CQB helmets were unlocked in reach (by achieving certain feats in past Halo games) could be a good compromise and would keep the flames as a status symbol like they were In reach without restricting their use to only those who got them back in the day.
As someone who owns both the flames I think they should be locked behind hard achievements, not given away to everyone and not exclusive to those who played OG Reach.

They said in their AMA that progression will be tweaked but also similar to the original and armor unlocks are being looked into, if there is a progression system the armor will more than likely be locked at the start.

I have an idea. Let them have the flaming helmet, but just make it different than the one that came with the $150 version back then. It seems to me like the main problem is that they did not pay for the exact helmet you have, which is understandable.
I feel like if a person pays for it, it might as well be different that somebody’s who didn’t pay squat.
Halo 3 gave everyone Recon, the katana, and the flaming helmet
Halo 4 gave everyone FOTUS and the special light rifle skin bundled with the console edition
The other games made their exclusive/hard-to-obtain armor available for everyone, why should Reach be the exception? Because you spend $150 nine years ago? Halo 4 fans had to buy a console for their special armor (which is not why you should be spending money on a special edition. That’s a waste of money to buy it solely for one item).

You paid for a 360 game , you can rock your $150 in back compat or 360 anytime you want but your purchase has no relevance in Mcc,

I had the red and blue flames and while it was cool and all to be a special snowflake on reach, I think MCC needs to be a remembrance of these games and give new players a chance to experience these games in full. Imagine being new to halo and learning that by not being old enough you’re locked out of content that you didn’t even have a chance to get. It would be discouraging and I just want halo to live on and to be a franchise that continues to find more and more of an audience (especially the old games which many of us have a preference for).

Praise this commenters wisdom. Halos past, should be fully available to everyone, new and old.

Yeah, give the people a feel of what it’s like to own it. Don’t let them never have it simply because they couldn’t pay money, or didn’t own Reach before the blue flame helmet was cut off. I’m ok if, say, you have to beat it on legendary for it. But I think locking it forever for some people is ridiculous.
The game came out almost 10 years ago. I think you’ve had enough time with your flames.
