I know that the Halo 4 engine is a redesigned Reach engine, but I am wondering if the physics will be closer to Halo 3 or Reach physics. I’m mainly worried about jumping. Does anyone know?
I’m pretty sure the jumping is closer to halo 3 then reach, as for the engine its pretty much just suped up reach engine.
I really hope the jump height will be similar to Halo 3’s.
Movement will be like 3’s but overall game mechanics will be more similar.to reach.
Also, halo reach and 3 run in the same engine

They’re different engines…
Neither. Halo 4 engine.
I just hope they put grenade jumping back in with sputnik.
> Neither. Halo 4 engine.
I heard it was a redesigned Halo: Reach engine. The main change was the lighting effects.
> Neither. Halo 4 engine.
I’m really getting tired of hearing things like “its a halo 4 engine” no “its a buffed up halo reach engine” or “it uses the same engine as CE”
I would really like it if someone posted actual evidence on the matter.

They both run on the halo engine, which is a modified custom havok engine. If you believe they are different merely from gameplay mechanics
Engine =/= gameplay

So do I, grenade jumping was great in CE without the boom skull, because boom would just kill me, grenades seem like nukes with the boom skull, especially in tight quarters.

Proof that it isn’t a Halo 4 engine.
> Engine =/= gameplay
thank you. engine is simply what runs the game. it has nothing to do with the mechanics of gameplay.
Did you also know its still the Havok engine which has been used since Halo CE? Bet you didn’t. Everyone seems to forget this fact. The engine hasn’t changed in over 10 years. However it is vastly improved upon for every title.
Honestly, I prefer the physics of Halo 3 over Reach. Something feels a little off by Reach physics. They’re still excellent, though.
If you have seen the MLG footage, it looks A LOT more like Halo 3. Don’t worry.

In the reach campaign. We played as a Spartan III. But master chief is a Spartan II. So I think the movement will be very different to Reach but similar to H3.

What exactly did that prove? Frankie said they couldnt talk about the engine.
Halo 4 Engine=Halo Reach=Halo ODST=Halo 3=Halo 2=Halo CE
Besides the engine has nothing to with gameplay.
