i have not gotten Reach for the Xbox one yet. After H5 I have learned that when dealing with Halo I will from now on wait for the reviews. In regards to the BC Reach I have seen many complaints (lag). I have also seen some people say the are having no issues at all. I am curious to see if these issues are: 1) with the 360 disc version being put into the xboxone 2) downloadable version or 3) both downloadable and disc versions.
i was hoping that you could leave a short comment stating simply what version you have and if there are issues.
example: downloadable, no issues. Or Disc, lag and sound
my hypothesis is that there will be less performance issues with the downloadable version than the disc version. Please do not use this thread as a soap box for declaring how you feel about 343, Microsoft, reach vs h3,4,5 or the rightness/wrongness of BC. Let’s just do some data collection.
Disk and It was Lagging badly, However I dropped my sensitivity one notch from 5 to 4 and it somehow helped a lot. Colors are also messed up in places. The game at least doesn’t make ghost imprints like halo 2 did on the 360

This is what I had with a digital downloaded copy. I’ve since installed it on my new 360 and it runs fine/ normal. It was never a tremendous performer in the first place, averaging at about 25-27 FPS pretty consistently, but somehow it’s even worse Xbox One…much worse. Major input lag, crackling audio, and seemingly running at an average of 18-20FPS…all this contributes to texture pop-in that does not exist and/ or is never noticeable on the 360 version. Yet, somehow the Xbox One runs Mass Effect better than ME had ever run on the 360. Even looking slightly better…and at a solid 30FPS.
[Edit] Oh and the 360 version of Reach looks better, too. Both, on my wife’s VGA setup, and on my 360’s HDMI setup.
Looks like luck of the draw. I had the disc from my 360 and it’s a slight choppy lag constantly. I’ll still play it, cause I love reach but it’s going to take a lot of getting used to. Also hearing that some peoples’ games runs just fine explains why I can get killed so quickly on a game most say is lagging.
I may end up uninstalling it and then reinstalling it to see if I get lucky.
I installed the game (disc) yesterday and played split screen online multiplayer with my brother. The lag and sound pop was at the beginning of every single match and would last for a minute or so. Then the player list screen would pop up and screen go black. I realized that during this time, the match is still going on. So my brother and I helplessly standing there while the game is fixing itself on the xbox one, but the 360 players are mowing us down. It was far much worse in firefight. We could not even play a single game of that as the lag was absolutely horrible.
I then signed myself out and my brother continued to play online. The performance improved considerably. Less lag, less sound pop and less black screens. So the moral of this story is, if you play split screen online multiplayer, expect MUCH more performance issues as opposed to playing online by yourself.
I have the disc, and the timing is kind of delayed sometimes. Not a whole lot of lag, just the normal amount, and my audio is fine. The texture on some areas looks very strange, but I’m getting used to it.
