Reach DMR

Now that Halo 4 has all of the good classic weapons like the 4sk BR and the 7sk Carbine, why can’t we have the classic DMR just like Halo Reach’s. To make it balanced take Halo Reach’s DMR ROF and put that same DMR ROF into Halo 4’s DMR. It would help the flow of gameplay becuause every weapon has a faster kill time than the DMR. You are probably going to lose alot of Halo players if you don’t make the DMR balanced.

A zero bloom DMR with nothing to hold back its rate of fire? No thanks.

Even when we were yelling for bloom to disappear, it was in the context of also lowering its RoF.

A balanced zero bloom DMR’s slowed DMR would be found by getting Reach DMR’s fastest kill time and its full paced long range kill time… Average the two then adjust the new ZB DMR rate of fire to be similar to the average kill time of the Reach DMR.

This DMR should be slow as hell compared to anything in the Halo 4 sandbox, which is fine. It’s slow kill time can be balanced with a butt ton of Aim Assist, Red Reticle Range, High bullet Magnetism. Should be perfect, slow but cross map worthy and never misses.

You do realize the Reach DMR’s rate of fire was still slower than the current H4 BR/Carbine/LR, right? It was even slightly slower than the H4 DMR. It would make no difference.

The current DMR is perfectly fine.

It’s perfectly accurate at any range and its killtime sits in the middle of every other rifle.

I have played a few games today and I have noted that many still use the DMR and it seems to perform/net the kills for its users that it always has done on the larger maps. This I noted by viewing post game stats/Carnage reports; particularly so on Ragnarok, Complex, Settler, Longbow etc. So, after all the complaints etc, many weapons get buffed and, despite the “slight” reduction in the RRR, the DMR is essentially the same old Halo 4 DMR killing weapon it has always been.

how about the classic reach DMR not the overpowered TU one that they released in reach. Put the bloom back as big as it was in classic reach and it will be more fair game.

The DMR is balanced.

It’s good at everything and the best at nothing. You stomp BR and Carbine users at long range, and dominate Light Rifle users in close range. If you’re on a medium sized map with varying lines of sight, the DMR is the best weapon because it is versatile.

It should kill slower than the BR/Carbine at close range.
It should kill slower than the Light Rifle at long range.

That’s how it is balanced.

It’s a jack of all trades so to speak. It’s good at everything and the best at nothing, which is as it should be.

Being the best at nothing is actually what makes it blow as a weapon right now. And with the speed boost to gameplay, long range doesn’t really exist if a player doesn’t want it to. They can just bail and wait for a closer encounter to destroy you with the BR.

The only thing I would like back from the Reach DMR is the lack of bloom. The weapons in Halo 4(especially after the tuning) do not suit the overall slower killtimes of Reach in the slightest. The weapon would be pointless.

Pointless weapons are bad.
