Just wondering, whether you prefer Reach default controls or Halo 3 default controls.
Before, I was used to the Halo 1-3 controls, but then I started playing Reach and I’ve gotten used to using RB as melee. Recently, I’ve started playing H3 again, but I’ve played Reach so much that I’m forced to use the 'Bumper ‘Jumper’ button layout
I just want to know why Bungie felt the need to change up the controls between games in the first place. But I do prefer the Halo 3 default/Reach Recon layout.
The only problem occurs when I switch to Modern Warfare and start flinging grenades everywhere when I try to reload.

The Halo 3 controls were built around Dual-wielding and Equipment. Since Reach did away with dual-wielding, they rearranged the scheme so that your four main combat pillars (gun, grenade, AA and melee) were all on the shoulder buttons.
Personally, I prefer Reach’s controls. They work better for me.
i don’t love either set up, i reallyreally wish we could customize the buttons.
but when i go back and play H3, i find myself tossing power drains at myself and/or teammates when i’m trying to do something else instead. oops. needless to say, my friends give me a wide berth the first few games on H3, especially on Narrows.
I agree Reach has much better controls than Halo 3.If you enjoy Halo 3’s control setup better you are just being nostalgic…come on change is imminent, and the future gave us a much better designed game.
> Lol SAME. Right when I’m next to an enemy I’d press the X button, accidentally drain my shields, and let the dude kill me >.<
heh. of course, i can never manage to do it with a regenerator or a bubble shield but a power drain? i’m awesome at landing the blue ball right at my buddy’s feet.

Used to play with default control’s since CE but since they added in Bump Jump, I haven’t looked back. Shooting while jumping never felt so good though you can’t use jet packs without clawing in Reach. Of course if you just use it to navigate without shooting then it’s not really an issue :P.
Armor Lock isn’t hard to use at all even with Bump Jump (lol). All you do is hold down the X button :P. You just gotta get used to the fact that the left bumper is to jump now.

Are we talking about the same game?
Anyways, I’ve never really noticed a change between control schemes. I’ve tried just about everything from defauls CE to bumber jumper. I happen to prefer H3/ Recon.
