Reach and ODST not included for existing owners

According to the store pages (both Xbox and Steam) Halo Master Chief Collection includes Halo Reach and ODST. Why, then, are they not included for those of us that already own MCC? Why are we the only ones that have to buy them separately?

Because we already own Halo: The Master Chief Collection. If someone who had never owned it before bought it now, they would get the games. Either way, you are paying for the product.

Well yeah, but we paid years ago. More, even.

And now we have to pay again.

Yes, because human beings took their time creating a product.

It takes a lot of time and effort to notch up resolution, improve frame rate, reduce lag, and then port.
Any sane business model would not only want to recoup that money but also make a profit.

If you owned a 1970s car do you think you would be able to upgrade to the current model for free?

The fact that people have deluded themselves into thinking we should pay for Reach a second time speaks volumes about the Halo community and the gaming community in general.

It has taken a time and a tremendous effort to bring Reach into the MCC and put it on PC as well, that work can’t be don’t for free therefore it’s only fair for 343 to ask players to pay for the game. Xbox users get Multiplayer, Forge and Theatre for free - you only need to buy Campaign and Multiplayer. If you are on Game Pass you get access to everything.

With that, closing this off as it’s not a support request.
