I don’t like Kat either, but when I was doing the campaign on legendary, Tip of the Spear was made a whole lot easier…
When I had to kill the three wraiths, I killed one with the plasma launcher. After that, I drove around to flank the other two, I got out, ran for the bubble shield, deployed it, knowing that death was sadly imminent…
Then… KAT! Kat comes crashing through the chaos and rams the wraith repeatedly, distracting it and nearly killing it. I throw two grenades and destroy it. She then distracts the other wraith while I sneak up behind it and plant a grenade in it.
AI perfection. The AIs in Reach were the most realistic thing ever.
(( I wrote that in response to an “I hate Kat” post )).
Now down to the topic at hand: Reach AIs. There one simple thing in Reach that shows how Bungie still is brilliant and ALWAYS innovating.
Remember how in basically EVERY FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER EVER, if YOU don’t do anything, it has this unrealistic occurence in which just because your ONE CHARACTER isn’t doing anything, that a large army or squad of people can’t complete their objective, and therefore, win the war.
Here’s the example: If you sit back and do NOTHING for most for Reach (except for lone-wolf operations or being ordered to do remote detonation), the AIs REALISTICALLY do EVERYTHING!
Bungie, bravo. Keep it going, 343 Industries. Shouldn’t be hard, the leader of the company was a Bungie employee from the beginning of it all.
