Reach & 4 progress etc unavailable offline

For both games my gamesaves are on my harddrive.
Reach:
playing local multiplayer my rank, armour, emblems etc are reset unless i am connected to live.
4:
Campaign progress is reset back to Prologue when offline. Reconnecting and everything is reinstated.

These symptoms are very annoying when the internet is unavailable. Any suggestions on how i can fix as i know lots of other people who dont have the problem.

i like to put in my 2 cents as well i beat halo 4 on legendary solo, while offline to unlock the master chief bonuses and its not saying i beat the game online. this is very annoying and they need to fix this!this is limited!
