Since Halo 4 is coming out, 343i needs to do something special for the original trilogy. Maybe re-release the original trilogy in a 3 special box set.
Halo Anniversary
Halo 2 Arcade
Halo 3
Release it for about $60 or so.

Why re-release Halo: Anniversary and Halo 3? That’s utterly pointless… if anything deserves a re-lease, it’s the sorely neglected Halo 2… it deserves its own Anniversary edition. Not everyone hates Halo 2’s Campaign and played it sorely for the multiplayer, you know.
HORRIBLE IDEA
Seeing Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 all re-released with Reach-calibre graphics would bring tears to my cold, unfeeling eyes, but even I can appreciate how utterly unrealistic is that desire.

Halo 3’s graphics are good enough that its art design makes it better looking than Reach. Halo Anniversary has graphics on par with Reach now, so the only one left out would be Halo 2.
I didn’t say re-release Halo 2 and 3 with Reach’s graphics.
Honestly the only thing about Anniversary that looked like Reach was the Covenant and Marines. Other than that it looks like a completely different game (well it was.)
Just re-release Halo 2 as an arcade title and just package up Halo 3 discs with it and Anniversary.

I have to disagree. Anniversary seems to me to feature graphics somewhere between Halo 2 and Halo 3, or perhaps I’m simply being led to that conclusion by the older animations; at any rate, it didn’t seem very close to Reach in my eyes. As for Halo 3, I noticed a difference; I remember thinking that the on-screen silhouette of the battle rifle (when you walk over it) had far fewer “lines” on it than did Reach’s.
To be fair, though, I think the only reason that I can tell the graphics apart is that I’ve played through each game so many, many times.
Well there is the rumor that Halo 2 will get an HD look. But I’am afraid that’s all you’ll get.
Which is fine with me.
> I didn’t say re-release Halo 2 and 3 with Reach’s graphics.
I know; I said that. I was simply inspired by your train of thought. My apologies.
Anniversary was beautiful unlike Reach.
Halo 3 is perfect the way it is (well some minor things could use some changes.)
Halo 2 is also perfect the way it is, but the graphic loading could use some work.
> Anniversary was beautiful unlike Reach.
Reach had the same aesthetic that all the other Halo games had (with the possible exception of ODST). I don’t know why people insist on attacking its visuals simply because they didn’t like aspects of the gameplay; no one’s going to call you a hypocrite if you admit that some elements of the game were done well.

I honestly didn’t like Reach’s art style. It was too gritty and realistic. I really did prefer Halo 3’s shiny, cartoony feel.

Anniversary is cartoony and it looks very strange. Halo 3 is the most real, and vibrant, and prettiest Halo has ever gotten.
Compare Sierra 117 to Winter Contingency. Compare Tsavo Highway to Tip of the Spear. The Ark to The Pillar of Autumn and its horrendous mountainside textures. Compare the Halo 3 Scarab to the abomination Reach Scarab. Compare The Storm to Exodus. And I love how the VGA trailer’s visuals were better than the actual game. And I love how the pixelated shadows in cutscenes flicker.
Halo 3 > Inferiority
> Halo 3 is the most real, and vibrant, and prettiest Halo has ever gotten.
Agreed.
> Compare the Halo 3 Scarab to the abomination Reach Scarab.
Show me pictorial evidence that one was better than the other.

As was ODST’s, and both existed for a reason: to convey a more melancholic, even noirish (in the case of ODST) atmosphere.
I think people forget that the art style of Reach was chosen to complement the games more mature themes and story.
The original trilogy always had a more tounge in cheek kind of vibe going on, so the more colourful style worked.
OT: The only one worth releasing would be Halo 2 as CEA and 3 are both readily available.
After Halo 4, it has been said that future Halo’s will be on next generation consoles. Halo: CE Anniversary did not sell too well so I doubt they will make more Anniversary games. Halo 3 is already on Xbox 360 so I don’t think it requires another remake. Halo 2 - yes, it does! I’ve never played the campaign, it’s the only Halo game I’ve never played (and Halo Wars). And when everyone buys the trilogy, a new generation console will come out and they’d be like, “What?” I think they should re-release all the games after they are done the series.
I think people may have misunderstood what the OP is suggesting. This is something along the lines of an HD collection (such as the Metal Gear Solid HD collection) or the Metroid Prime Trilogy collection. They’re not remaking Halo CEA or 3, they’re bundling them with two and selling them together. They’d probably upgrade 2 to HD but like most HD collections, it’d have the same models, sound, most everything but the textures and resolution. It’s not a bad idea. It probably wont be done but it would be a good way to introduce newer players to the series. Hell, they could limit it to campaign if they really wanted, especially depending on when they released it. If it was to be released before Halo 4 it could have the Reach multiplayer (maybe 3’s as well). If it was released after, it could come with a map pack for Halo 4.
I think it would be pretty pointless as it makes no sense for people to buy that pack and get 2 copies of Halo 3 and Anniversary. People who don’t have the original trilogy may want to buy it, but it wouldn’t sell much I believe.
Sounds like a terrible idea. Halo 3 is fairly up to date with modern video game tech and is not anywhere close to its tenth anniversary.
The only one which makes sense is a remake of Halo 2 because taht will be reaching its tenth anniversary by 2014 and many people would like to re-experience its campaign and have it brought back online.
2014, folks. I’m almost, ALMOST positive that 2014 will be the Halo 2 Anniversary. If anything, they’ll work on H2 Anniversary and call it good at that. I’m guessing they only want Anniversary editions of the two Xbox Originals for now.
