I don’t think Infinite is ever going to get a ray tracing update tbh. Just my opinion though.

The lighting already looks pretty decent as is imo, so at least we’ve got that

It took them, what, a year to acknowledge H5 heavy aim was an issue and another year to make any measurable progress on it? And that was only after the COMMUNITY modded controllers and the game to log the issue and finally find some breadcrumbs they could track down

Infinite’s networking issues have the same walk and talk wher it’s going to be something they’ll probably never fully solve.

(Not saying the bugs are related. Just saying the problems complexity is probably nuts).

Here is my suggestion:

Before you do what I suggest below do this:

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card before you do the following!

Goto settings in gameplay and turn on FPS Counter ( should come up on top right of your screen and the boot up the game to see your FPS. ( Remember it )

THEN!!

Goto Settings then goto video. Then set Min. and max
frame rate as high as you can get it!
Turn Off Vsync ( unclick )
Turn Off Limit inactive frame rate ( unclick )
Leave game then reboot it!
Then check you FPS and see if it is higher before you did these settings.
See if that works better before you do below.

  1. Download and install all the drivers for your motherboard from the MFG.
  2. Goto Windows update make sure your are all updated.
  3. Download the drivers for your GPU for nvidia or use Geforce Experience
    update your GPU drivers.

I hope this works for you,

What I use is “Reshade” with the “Cinematic Reshade Prefab” for Halo infinite. It’s as close to RTX you gonna get with Halo Infinite. It really looks great! Great colors and reflections.

Nah like it runs fine but I can’t get the visual fidelity I want compared to other games, is what I mean.

I’m not saying I get bad FPS. I get 60-75.

What’s wrong is that this game like… frakking isn’t optimized.

It’s coming in Season 3. AMD announced it during their RX 7000 series presentation.

Considering it came from AMD themselves, they are probably the ones working on it with 343, not 343 on their own. Especially since it is solely comeing from DXR and not Nvidea’s RTX tech.

Also it is only raytraced shadows which don’t look as good as Raytraced reflections and the whole raytracing package.

Even Nvidea and the game’s default setting are medium for me, but I’ve been running max 1080p with a 2070Super, ryzen 3600x, 16GGB of ram (upgraded to 32 recently), on a HDD and my framerate has been solid. There is definitely something wrong with the engine that is making the game run poorly, and something that tricks the computer into thinking its automatic settings are way off from what it should be.

Granted, I’ve seen much worse optimization in other games that did feel content complete. This just adds to the unfinished feel of Halo Infinite.

How can you f up a raytracing update?

Put it only in multiplayer and have it only affect shadows, because everyone surely stands still in multiplayer to enjoy these nice looking shadows …

Absolutely wild, I’d completely given up on this idea.

Maybe they will do splitscreen co-op after all.

Only one can hope and pray for honestly at this point. It seems like a far shot, but honestly it might happen.

I’m looking forward to this update because I truly believe that it’ll help the player population continue to enjoy this game.

For campaign RT would be nice but see no point having it in MP
However the real plus if RT was ever added would be that DLSS would most likely be added as well.

Ray tracing is a gimmic in every game.
I prefer artificial well placed lightning 99% of the time.
