Ray Tracing Series X

So I saw some articles saying that ray tracing will be added post-launch but every article I saw said PC. Will Halo Infinite have ray tracing on the Series X or Series S? I have a Series X but not a PC so I was curious.

We still don’t have ray tracing form the xbox Minecraft team so if it does happen it might be a long wait. And depending on what the 343 team is working on at the time.

It’s just not in pc as far as I’m aware Xbox will have at launch

Where did you hear that? I remember a year or so ago they said they might add it post launch.

No way, need a source for that.

It won’t be there at launch but it is presumed to be there at some point, 343 has said its a “top POST LAUNCH priority” which is why they partnered with AMD. IGN has asked xbox for a comment for series X/S ray tracing status but didn’t receive an answer. The article: https://www.ign.com/articles/halo-infinite-pc-ray-tracing-amd

Well I guess we’ll just have to see on December 8th lol

Expect it will do some amount of ray tracing on Series consoles, but mostly likely it will be just 1 ray tracing effect, meaning something like just reflections or just shadows, whereas PC could theoretically do several different effects like reflections and shadows and ambient occlusion all at once, if they want it to.
The norm this gen seems to be that Series X/S and PS5 are only really capable of 1 ray tracing effect at a time, without crippling performance, though in some cases like Spider Man Miles Morales with its reflections, that 1 effect can still have a huge impact on the look of the game

I don’t remember the source. But before the delay last year I’m pretty sure they confirmed ray-tracing post-launch for X/S and PC.
But I haven’t heard anything about it lately, considering FC6 sacrificed RT on consoles for 60fps it might not be so certain as I thought.
I guess we’ll see

Honestly, I hope their top post launch priority is adding co-op and split-screen to campaign for Xbox and PC.

Ray tracing can definitely come to Series X/S especially since 343 partnered with AMD to. get performance enhancements on AMD technology which will benefit both console and PC. The quality of the ray tracing won’t be as good most likely and it may limit campaign to only 30fps and may not be present in multiplayer but I’m sure 343 and Microsoft will try everything they can to get a headline feature like ray tracing into consoles.

Ray Tracing is a post-launch priority that will most likely be expedited by Microsoft/343’s best-friendship with chip-and-card maker AMD.

If they do raytracing in halo infinite the best iteration should be ray traced global illumination. That would look awesome with the day and night cycle
