Saw the name mentioned in another thread. Brought back memories. Anyone else wanna see a remake?
I prefer new maps over remakes, but I do enjoy seeing older favorites being recreated. I’d say ‘Yes’, but for Halo 5.
Though personally, I’d rather see Zanzibar remade
Not a big fan of Rat’s Nest, but I would love Standoff or Sandtrap back.
Imagine for Halo 5, 16v16, oversized Sandtrap with Mammoths…
Ooooh Standoff and Sandtrap!
Given the ‘Pit’ remake featured a ruined and abandoned Pit, I think Standoff remade would be a destroyed, war-torn version? Might be cool ^^
I don’t think it’d play very well with sprint. The center hallways would be way too crowded. You could stretch them out, but then the NASCAR track would be too long.
Nah, I would prefer new maps.

I thought about that but, aren’t the central areas so tight that it would be pointless to press the sprint button?
If we were to see a remake I would honestly like to see a different map. I mean I never really found Rats Nest that interesting of a map. That said the only maps I really want to see be remade have been made plenty of times by Bungie. I guess I just really love Beaver Creek and Sanctuary :3
I feel like Harvest is really similar to Rat’s Nest with basically two buildings not quite connected then having the warthog track around the outside.
Absolutely. Rat’s Nest is one of my favorites, and they NEVER remake old DLC maps…
But I think it should have a different aesthetic this time around. I think it would be really cool to have it set on the Pillar of Autumn with an aesthetic similar to that last level of Halo:Anniversary, “The Maw”.
I love remakes but they’re just never the same. Id like a remake or two of Reach in Halo 5 though.
The problem is that remade maps just never play the same. The out functions completely differently, I’m sure Reflection does compared to its Halo 2 base.
Hemorrhage doesn’t work the same way as in each version prior.
It could probably be said of any remake. But still, they’re fun.
Although, I wanna see more of vertigo. That is a neat map. And I like the Halo 3 style map gimmick (shield pulse things). And they look amazing when they explode. Lol

Sanctuary was a DLC map from Halo 2, and that was remade as Asylum in Halo Reach.
I’d say yes, leave the outside track how it is, and revise the inside to suite 4’s style.

What are you on about? The pit plays better than before IMO. It works well with sprint and monolith was based of old map design and that worked fine to.

Wat? He didn’t even mention sprint and was talking about the aesthetics of the map.

sorry my bad kind of late in the UK. But for this could be for those who think remakes might’n work.

I’m sure he meant the looks of the map when he said “ruined and abandoned”. Not that it is ruined and abandoned as in a bad remake.
I loved Rat’s nest and Would love for it to return. Also Standoff, Sandtrap, Terminal, Foundery, avalanche/sidewinder. Any of those, even if it’s just one.

Daybreak seems like a good spiritual successor to Standoff, I must say.
On-Topic:
While I did love Rat’s Nest, I don’t think it’s worthy of a remake, nor do I expect any more DLC (but that’s an entirely different discussion). However, a map that I’d LOVE to see remade would be Example from Halo 2 Vista.
…And High Ground, you can’t forget High Ground.

Forge remakes don’t count; even if those remakes were made by the developers, they’re still using the exact same tools the players use. If Bungie hadn’t included that remake on the disc, someone else would’ve remade it eventually.
