tl;dr
I dont really care if little kids play it or not. The only reason I hate little kids playing Halo 4, is because when I’m in a custom game, I hear their really high voices and its irritating when they scream in their mics like they think we cant hear them. Honestly I dont even think it should be M rated. Maybe T would be more appropriate.
Let’s not, it’s just the media putting some -Yoink- excuses to get more views. Ignorant people like to hear that video games are corrupting people instead of their own failings as parents. Simple as that.
It is rated M because of the war theme it has. It talks about genocide and millions of people die in the war. Game play wise, only assassinations would make it rated M.
The real “wrong” here is that 343 made this game NOOBY friendly for the new younger crowd by dumbing it down. It amazes me that the game seems like it is marketed toward a crowd younger than what can legally buy it.

You should actually read the article…it basically says exactly what you did. Parents and mental instability are giving video games a bad name…just like they did with comic books, movies, music, radio programs, war novels etc back when those were the scapegoat of the times.
Indeed, I probably should; but I don’t like this topic and don’t feel like ruining my mood reading about it.
What will GTA be rated if this M?
I’ll have to read this later.
I played violent video games since I was 7 and I came out okay =3 Sinister laugh

A for Ancient, 90+
People who do things “because” of violent games already had something wrong with them to begin with. blaming it on games is just a scapegoat, taking blame away from this country’s horrible mental healthcare system
that was probably off topic, but

I think that the MM alone should be the reason for it to be rated M … some of those trash talkers have a mouth dirtier then my toliet… Hmmm, wonder if they would talk so big if there wasn’t a mic between you sometimes.

Probably still would, their quite arrogant.
For the campaign? No. But H4 isn’t just the campaign, its multipplayer which certainly is not Disneyland. The worst part about it is the worst offenders are kids thinking they have to talk vulgar trash to sound grown up.
Regardless if I’m actively using my headset or not, I leave it plugged in so my family won’t hear some of the stuff coming though the tv.
I want to play in a game where in multiplayer I don’t get my ears blown out, what is a game without little kids and great multiplayer?

Avoid:
New games.
Easy/Casual games.
Free games.
Popular games.
Kids always seem to flock to those. Even worse if it is a combination of the above.
Off the top of my head, Half Life 2 Deathmatch. Worse you are going to get is probably mic spam, which is easily muted.
