The first real test of your fighting skill in the game, Elites are strong, cunning and god -blam-! aggressive. They got energy shielding tech that comes from Forerunner technology, and their skills with weapons are unmatched. The most feared have to be the Golden Zealots with Energy Swords - and not forgetting the invisible Spec Ops. They are (probably) what gave rise to the “Noob Combo” (Plasma Pistol shot to deplete shields, then a headshot to kill).
