Rate my BTB Loadout and suggest yours

This is a very long explanation as to why I chose everything for my loadout, read if you want. But just read what I use, and plz rate and suggest improvements. I edit my loadouts in-game if I ever do feel that I do need a change. It took me about half an hour to come up with this :stuck_out_tongue:

Loadout 2 - Big Team Infinity Slayer

Primary Weapon: DMR, Light Rifle

Secondary Weapon: Plasma Pistol, Boltshot

Grenade: Frag Grenade, Plasma Grenade
Armor Ability: Active Camouflage, Hardlight Shield, Regeneration Field
Tactical Package: AA Efficiency, Requisition, Shielding, Wheelman (with Gunner)
Support Upgrade: Ammo, Awareness, Sensor, Stability, Gunner (with Wheelman)****

Notes: This loadout is specifically designed for Big Team Infinity Slayer, to greatly better your performance.

-The DMR is perfect for nearly every situation, and is one of the best weapons to use as all maps in Big Team Infinity Slayer are quite big. The Light Rifle is also another great choice if you want to hang back and pick off enemies in the open who are on the battlefield, coming at you. Both weapons have great accuracy, scope, and are headshot-capable weapons.

-Are you feeling offended and bothered by a vehicle on the battlefield? Plasma pistols are ridiculous in this game, use the overcharge to EMP and freeze it in it’s tracks and finish the drivers/pilot with a few grenades. Remember that a lot of people choose to spawn with plasma pistols in Halo 4, and side by them to EMP vehicles together. The Boltshot is perfect for very close-range battles, one charged shot will get rid of your enemies in those kind of situations. The Boltshot covers for the weaknesses of the Primary Weapon that you are using.

-Use frag grenades to deal damage, and use plasma grenades to stick vehicles and enemies.

-From a good distance away, your Active Camouflage will render you almost completely invisible to enemies (if you stay still) as it won’t scramble enemies’ radars. Active Camouflage is ideal for stealthy sniping. However, Active Camouflage may not be entirely necessary, as staying still without it can prevent you from popping on enemy radars. Hardlight Shield will give you time to move into cover, but unless you can get a few teammates to finish off your attackers, you will probably die. Regeneration Field must be deployed in cover, to start up the shield recharge fast for you to get back into battle. It will also be of great assistance to your teammates.

-AA Efficiency will help you utilize your armor abilities a lot better and more often. Requisition will give you another chance to get an ordnance drop fit for your current situation. Shielding is best paired with Regeneration Field as your armor ability. Wheelman will work best for you if you plan on making heavy use of vehicles, but if you choose to use Wheelman, pair it with Gunner as the Support Upgrade in your loadout.

-Ammo is ideal for Big Team Infinity Slayer. It’s hard to find ammo for your guns in such big maps. Ammo will help you worry less about running out of ammo obviously, and will give you more time to use power weapons from ordnance drops. This loadout is heavily designed for long-range combat, so Awareness will be a big help, giving you more situational awareness while you’re scoped. Sensor will give you a better picture of the map and affect your decisions on how to navigate it. If you see three enemies and you are all alone, it’s most likely best to skip that fight. Stability is also a very great option, which nicely compliments precision and sniper weapons. Gunner is absolutely beautiful if you’re in control of a firing-position on a Warthog, Banshee, Turret, or Mantis. Use it with Wheelman if you plan on using vehicles a lot.

DMR
Boltshot
Frags
Promethean Vision
Requisition
Ordnance Priority

Pretty much the most overpowered loadout I could think of.

Thanks Ramir3z77, it looks so so cheap and unfair, but it looks like it will easily give you an advantage over other players. I use the DMR and Boltshot/Plasma Pistol a lot in BTB, and the BR and AR in regular Infinity Slayer.

I use:

DMR
Plasma Pistol
Stickies
Varies (I don’t use AA’s much in BTB)
Mobility, Requisition
Stability, Ordinance Priority

> Stickies

I really should start using Ordnance Priority, never used it in a loadout before. Ever. Or Stability or Requisition yet even though I’m at SR 130 and have everything unlocked. Sometimes I choose not to have an Armor Ability in a loadout at all as I become too reliant on it.

I think Ordinance Priority is smart for BTB. I use Camo for regular playlists, but it really doesn’t give you much of an advantage because of the mass amount of people. Good points.

Until the DMR is fixed, it is the clear and definite choice to be used as a primary weapon. That said, I use the Light Rifle because I’m a stubborn -Yoink-.

Primary Weapon: Light Rifle (Automatic weapons are for cannon-fodder)
Secondary: Plasma Pistol (people with the Scorpion are annoying. People with the mantis are annoying)
Grenades: Plasma (people with ghosts are annoying. People with warthogs are annoying)

Armor Ability: Active Camo (Primarily for escaping)

Tactical Upgrade: Mobility (These BTB maps are HUGE)

Support Upgrade: Explosives (Primarily for reducing grenade damage received, people huck em’ like they’re going out of style).

> I think Ordinance Priority is smart for BTB. I use Camo for regular playlists, but it really doesn’t give you much of an advantage because of the mass amount of people. Good points.

Thanks so much man, I have Ordnance Priority and everything else unlocked (I’m SR 130) but I still haven’t tried using Ordnance Priority EVER. I thought that I wouldn’t need it. I never use Camo in any playlist, but after being sniped by snipers in Active Camo, I figured it may be good to use in BTB. Maybe not though. Highly depends on the situation and players you face.

Light Rifle
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Grenade
Jet Pack
Wheelman
Ammo

In a BTB, You will always spawn in a giant map with open space. Since the light rifle does more damage zoomed in and most of the time you’ll be sniping, its a good weapon.

There’s always at least one vehicle in BTB, so Plasma Pistol can help you EMP them and hijack or grenade the vehicle.

Jet Pack can be really useful for hopping over speeding ghosts or just getting on a banshee. They also help parkouring.

As said, there’s always at least one vehicle in BTB, and wheelman would be the perfect package for it.

Ammo, as you said, is great since you will last very long easily and the plasma pistol will not help in fighting single handedly.

VERY good points WindClaw, mind if I try it out? I like to use the DMR but I’ve been trying to switch to the Light Rifle because of how much more satisfying and fun it is to use than the DMR.

Great loadout and points, PsiPwnage11. But the Jetpack honestly never worked for me on BTB maps, and I don’t really use Wheelman without Gunner. I think that 343 needs to buff the Wheelman package a little. However, Wheelman with Gunner on a Mantis is deadly!

Ragnarok, Exile (Red), Longbow

DMR
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Nades
Regen Field
Unlimited Sprint
Ammo

At Ragnarok I usually hang out at the Pelican so I can sprint there, DMR people from up top, noob combo/plasma nade any people sneaking up, take out vehicles, drop down and regen when I need to, and I have plenty of ammo for all that. This also works good for Exile red team as I can run over and hang out in and around Blue base and take out the Gauss hog as soon as it pops up. I can also get to and hold down Bravo Base in Longbow with this.

Exile (Blue)

DMR
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Nades
Hardlight Shield
Wheelman
Gunner

If I’m team blue exile, I use my wheelman loadout and run straight to Gauss driver. Nothing more frustrating than seeing a bad driver take our HUGE advantage and drive it over to red and get taken out in a sea of plasma stuffs.

Vortex changes depending on the situation.

Meltdown I haven’t played enough to even come up with any kind of strategy.

DMR comm. is almost mastered so I’ll probably switch those out for LR soon.

Light Rifle
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Grenades
Jetpack
Requisition
Ammo

Love your loadouts. Also love how you have two different loadouts for Exile HAHA xD

Not to derail the thread, but yeah, Exile is rather unbalanced. It’s so irritating that it is voted for so often despite this observation. Do people hope that they will be on the favored team even though there’s only a 1/2 chance that they will be on it?

Perhaps. I really don’t like to play on Exile for BTB, I only enjoy it for Dominion. People vote for it WAY too often.

Yeah, that hog is a game changer. Not too bad if you focus on keeping it off the map though. I love to jump in the driver’s seat and force blue to destroy they’re own OP machine.

DMR
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Grenades
Camo/Regen
Requisition
Ammo

I use the DMR over the Light Rifle solely due to it’s ability to deal so much more damage to vehicles. I would honestly prefer to use the Light Rifle since it has the quickest kill time when in scope, but the mass amount of vehicles is what prevents me from doing so.

Plasma Pistol and Grenades are always my choice so I can EMP and take out vehicles.

I use Camo the vast majority of the games that I play in because the maps are so big and it prevents you from being spotted and allows me to sit back and snipe and put shots into people. It also is beneficial to use up close in 1v1s because it helps reduce the aim assist other players have on you. I use the Regen whenever I feel that my team needs it.

I tend to get a lot of ordnances, therefore I like to have the option to re-roll my choices to give me the chance of acquiring a better weapon.

Ammo is always a given for me on BTB maps due to how much ammo you can use up if you stay alive and constantly put shots on people and vehicles. It also is nice to get more ammo whenever I get an ordnance or power weapon.

Beautiful loadout, EIektron! You make very valid points that helps me to see why this would be an ideal loadout for Big Team.

DMR or LR
Plasma Pistol
Camo
Wheelman
Stability

That’s my BTB Loadout.
