Im confused to as to why ive been done with silvers for a month and then refinished silvers again after the last content drop. But strangely i just opened a gold and got “cowboy ninja” a rare in a gold… Why would this be? At first i thought the new update dropped but that didn’t make sense because xbox didn’t need to update.

Because you didn’t finish your Rare packs. I remember opening my last Silver pack to get an emblem and 1500 RP. Turns out the next Silver gave me The Blood of Suban and 1500 RP. Finally, I got 3000 RP from my Silvers. I guess you were like me and thought you were done.

Some emblems are considered rare but only appear in gold packs. The event that OP mentioned happened to me a couple days ago.
I never realized that opening bronzes then silvers then golds would narrow down the loot pool so i always encountered uncommons and rares in my golds until i realized this a few weeks ago
Cowboy Ninja is one of the few ‘Rare’ emblems that can ONLY be found in a Gold pack, silly enough.

Appreciate the answer. There was no way i hadn’t been done with silvers i know ive been done for over a month im near completion so it didnt make sense to get a rare. But considering what you said cool I just don’t want to be blowing 10k points and be getting rare. All im getting mostly now are stupid ultra rare and legendary emblems anyway.

Speaking of which, I’ll be adding the new February Emblems to the list as soon as I can confirm whether or not there are Commendations for the Gravity Hammer and/or Ball Gamemodes.
I have another question regarding this. I finished silvers of all the new items but still lack the rare dmr with the extended mags. Im assuming that this is gonna be another exception and it comes in a gold back?

considering the pistol with extended mags is Ultra Rare, I think the DMR is, too. They likely listed it incorrectly.

I noticed a similar thing recently. I skipped bronze and began opening exclusively silvers. I finished all of the silvers over a week ago and started moving into golds.
Then, in order to restock some common/uncommon low req items, I recently bought several bronze packs and… Mongoose cert after mongoose cert started popping up! I hadn’t realized that this entire time I never had a single mongoose certification. Apparently you can only get them in bronze packs!

I might have to try this…I have several common mongoose certifications that have not unlocked and could not figure out why…actually that might be a good thing

For as long as you have uncommon/rare permanent REQ unlocks remaining, you will get those 2 rarity ranked items in a gold pack. Be it weapon/weapon variant/pizza-looking skin/armor/helmet/emblem/vehicle. And plus when 343 do their monthly updates and add more uncommon/rare rarity REQ items in monthly updates, you get the picture on that one.
