I say it was some sort of server lag, he shot you before the actual plasma rounds come out the rifle. the game tried making up for it, visually speaking.
Yup I can confirm what Chimera30 is saying. There’s only one Covie Carbine I know in Halo 5 that has that fast of a firerate, and that’s the Rain of Oblivion aka Full-auto Carbine.
That is NOT the Rain of Oblivion. First, that was a normal arena slayer match so that weapon would not spawn. Second, the Rain of Oblivion fires nowhere near that rate.
However, I thought the carbine’s ROF was nerfed in the weapon tuning that put a cap on how fast it could be fired even if a modded controller was used.

Some weapons shoot faster than others and depending on how fast you pull your trigger and the response rate of the controller it could technically be plausible but at the speeds your describing highly unlikely and probably a server glitch with the game trying to make up for it visually.

Is really strange… Ive 3 years playing halo, and never see this kind of shot even in a lagserver… Is really strange

Same. In my >120 days of in-game time I’ve never seen that before. So if Halo 5’s game files are secure then it must be some sort of third party hardware? Even so, the game limits how fast the carbine can be fired…
How did that player in particular play the rest of the game? Was it an isolated incident?
Hmmm that was incredibly fast and I am not sure the rain of Oblivion is available on that map… So let’s hope this was a glitch of some sort but keep an eye out as there was a way to do this with the AR at a time with some sort of button mapping exploit or something.

I watched the video slowly when appropriate and your opponent’s weapon looks like a regular Carbine and not a Rain of Oblivion. I only saw purple and no yellow. The rate of fire also seems awfully high, so there’s that. Not sure whether it’s lag or extra hardware that caused that.

I think is a external add on in the xbox controller… I feel that

Well, i dont think the lag is the reason of the unnatural fire
