Is it just me, or that when you’re playing 2v2, 3v3 and one of your allies “disconnects” it is impossible to come back with the win? Like solely based on the fact your pop. has a limit the odds are not in your favor. Personally I’d like to see a handicap or a new feature where it takes a “disconnection” into account and levels the playing field.
Or like other rts the AI takes over. Settings could be set to heroic so the AI is not too strong.
if irc, In WC3 you gained control of their units/buildings and your pop doubled. I think that’s the nice way of handling it.
Only handicap you get is that its tough to micro, I hate when you are winning and your teammate disconnects, and those units just disappear…

its kinda fair, he can get up to 160 / 200 / 240 pop, but has to manage more bases and more ressources and more units.
That is a sucky way to loose.

And if he was to build 2 Condors and 20 Grizzlies… or 4 condors
Over population for a 1 vs 2 is just completely unbalanced

no its not… you are 2 players in a team. you can build 2 condors each too. In fact thats a pretty bad combo, you just have to spam wolverines or reavers or hornets or banshees to stop it. Its not that there are suddly 4 condors on the map… have you seen the build time per condor?
And lol @ 20 grizzlys, would be free win for me, nothing is easier then spamming cyclops with t3 upgrade all day. Grizzlys are slow, grizzlys are easy to hit, and they are expensive… just scout both bases with a jackrabbit or air unit midgame… if you see 2 garages per base, you build hunters / cyclops asap. or cyclops / hornets if you want, all those grizzlys will be dead.
You miss one fact: if each of you builds 120 pop units, he has to control and micro double as much units… each player can attack here and there, and he has to defend on serveral points… even if he goes all in, its nearly impossible to micro and use active skills (like the grizzly f skill) on 20+ units by one player.
So if he goes grizzly, you use condor by yourself and hornets while your mate goes mass cyclops and some nightinggales… how should he stop it?
He could only stop it if your teamwork sucks and you fight alone each other… if your teamwork is good and you play with micro / discord like most pc players do, you will easyly outplay him. if you dont want to use voice tools you should prefer 1v1 over teamgames. its not possible to manage high level teamplay without voice tools / commands.
The biggest difference about good players on onyx / champion and average players on platinum / diamond is scouting, scouting, scouting.
It all about knowing what your enemy does… lower level players tend to ignore the enemy… they start halo wars and think “ok today i gonna build 20 grizzlys”.
A good player never knows which unit he will mostly use before he scouts his enemy or atleast knows the build order.
Except those Atriox mass Locust player, there was no scouting needed, you could just fasttech to cyclops

If you give them that much time to build that many… you kind of deserve to lose.
Been there and lost every single game when it happened…
I think the AI taking over would be the best/easiest solution.
