So how come we have such a lazy ranking structure that anyone plays everyone rather than basing it off of skill? And do not tell me they actually take skill into account or I could run solo in swat and win when I go 21-2-10 rather than. Losing and deranking while I slaughter people.

Cause honestly I played back in halo 2 where bungie actually knew how to do math so you don’t stick high ranks against a bunch of unranked players who are stuck with a singular plat on their team and the other team pulls diamond.
If you have no actual structure then there is no actual ranking and thus no real competition other than who has the best connection at the time. Skill leaves. Be different if all game variants were free for all, but only one is.

Dude I like competition but basing it on wins is just stupid. No plat should have anything below a gold in their game. All the games that run this structure put limits on it for a reason.

I don’t see why win % is bad, personal skill means nothing if you lose and lack the ability to be a team player, it’s part of why it was changed to begin with long before even 343 took over. As for h5s ranks in specific it just won’t work when you don’t have the luxury of a large population like H3-reach had.

I personally think that was an extremely stupid idea.
I remember when I dropped a 24 to 7 yet we lost and I deranked to bronze. Like wtf!

If you want to earn your rank based on your own merits, play FFA. Team based playlist ranks are W/L once you’re out of your placements. If you want to rank up, play with a team. Don’t have one? Use the Xbox Club and LFG features. Or ask over in Recruiting here.
But hey. If you were as good as you claim to be, you could beat a Gold and Silver but I definitely saw some games where you lost to them so maybe you should hold your stones until you’re not in a glass house. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
