yup. and h2 worked well. could have been tweaked, but it was manageable. i always felt like games were competitive.
i wouldnt cry foul if losses were mitigated by individual performance. Win Loss is the only appropriate way to matchmake, but if playing your best even whilst losing meant your loss of rank would be less severe I dont see much fault there.
A simple example might have a player losing 100 points to their individual rank of 1500. if that player was ranked highest on the team based on score (where score is given for a variety of gametype specific actions) then perhaps the loss is only 75.
but this is likely a complication to an otherwise simple system, and so likely not worth implementing.

My entire team just quit out on me in Arena slayer. Just now. I was the last one in the game. I reported all 3 of them for quitting early, and there wasn’t any possible way I stood a fighting chance. I am Platinum 3, now platinum 1, just because I refused to quit out and get penalized for being a “quitter”. I would move 15 feet and either get sniped or stuck with a grenade in this 4 on 1 game. And if I quit out, not only do I derank, but I lose my REQ card, my XP, and my RP. Thank you 343 for designing this ranking system this way, in the primitive way it was on Halo 3 and Halo Reach. And you guys are wondering why a bunch of infuriated little basement nerds DDOSed the crap out of the servers during the first week of Halo5. I understand them now, they aren’t being malicious. They are trying to give you the HEADS UP that you need to correct what you have done. Wins are part of the ranking system, but you shouldn’t make them 100%. You HAVE the RESOURCES. You HAVE the TECHNOLOGY. Make it HAPPEN. For the players. Not just for YOU.

deserve is a strong word. if youre working as a team your performance is tied in to that. why wouldnt your team mates deserve as much credit for setting you up and assisting you?

Yes I have been playing since CE came out but no, considering when Halo 2 came out I was in 9th grade. Sorry I don’t have the time to put in over 4.5 days of play time anymore. Kind of grew up and discovered other things in life. I play in my spare time as a hobby. It was simply a question of wondering why someone that doesn’t even play the game is trolling forums about said game.
Win loss should be big. But if I go 17 and 8 and my team loses, I accept a downward shift, but not the same one as the dude who went 2 and 20.
