Those who happen to own a copy of Halo 4, and play Multiplayer just know your rank will be reset on release day.
So those worrying about people having an advantage over you, don’t.

Source?
First off, proof?
Second, no one is playing online anyways because they would be permanent banned

Legit copies dont get banned…

Common damn sense.
There will most likely be a release day update that, among other things, will reset any unintended prerelease progress.
Who cares, we’ll all get there, sooner or later.
Those who do somehow own a copy won’t see this post. Why? They’re playing the damn game! Once that game comes out I will never see these forums again.
Don’t make a statement without proof

So it’s common sense yet you yourself aren’t sure? Right.
Your point? I mean seriously, like how many people got the leak? You make it seem like 100k people got it. pffft

The only people who have the game right now are press & 343i (legally may I add and can play it online without a ban).
Are the multiplayer servers even online? Because if they aren’t online then…
Reach did the same, I see no reason why this wouldn’t be the case with Halo 4 as well.

I can see the devs retaining rank, not the press folks though

This. Also being in NZ I get the games at least 12 hours before US and I have never once experienced a release day reset. So if a reset does happen it will most likely happen the day before maybe even a week before.
Edit: Even when games have had day 1 patch they havn’t reset my rank
Playing before release with a legit copy or not is permanent ban. Microsoft may loosen up 3-4 days before release, but the ban reason is for playing the game before release. Playing games before release is in violation of the TOS.
The email says:
illegitimate prerelease title play
That means anyone who plays the game early without permission will be banned.
I remember them saying there will be a rank cap until there are enough people at similar levels. I guess it’s for the specializations, but I don’t remember anything about a rank reset even though I’m sure it will happen.
