Ranks NEED to be reset, HC playlist reinstated

As I’m sure 343 is aware, there is an exploit involving dashboarding out of a game and turning your xbox live connection off that enables you to “win” a match without actually playing or winning a match. There is a video on YouTube explaining how to do it, I won’t link it because I’m not sure if it is against the rules.

As a semi-competitive Halo player and avid Halo eSports fan, I would like to see ranks reset when the game is fully functional. A high rank should be earned by skill and teamwork alone, not exploitation of an unintended glitch. Ranks are very important to giving the game longevity and players something to work for, they are what motivated me to play Halo 3 for years. Sorry to anyone who worked hard for their current rank but I see this issue as nearly game breaking for a player like myself.

In addition, I would like to see the Team Hardcore playlist reinstated as soon as possible. Preferably when dedicated servers are working to their full potential, they seem to be working on Halo 3 but not H2A. Both competitive Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 3 gametypes should be included in my opinion, though the guys at Team Beyond may disagree. Halo 3 plays just fine on dedicated servers, although the BR might be a bit gimped the game is as competitive as ever. Once these issues are taken care of I see myself playing MCC exclusively instead of switching between Halo and Call of Duty as I have been doing recently.

tl;dr Please fix the rank-up glitch, add Team Hardcore with both H2A and Halo 3 RANKED and fix dedicated servers ASAP. PLEASE.

I apologize, I wasn’t aware. I haven’t really been keeping up with 343’s updates, I just thought I would make a post and put in my 2c on what needs to be done to improve the game. Especially the rank up exploit.

No need to be short with me. Regardless, I hope a 343 Employee sees my post and keeps my suggestions and competitive players in mind. I really like what they are doing with the HCS, I hope they implement FFA tournaments in the future for players who are unable to find 4 reliable players.

EDIT: Warlock’s spawns need to be static rather than dynamic. Previously the objective was to take R2/R3 control and trap them in their base pinning them down with fire from carbine/P street, now they can spawn behind you and break your setup with relative ease. Whoever is in charge of the competitive playlist/maps needs to take care of this in my opinion. That’s the way it was in Halo Reach, I can’t speak for Halo 2 as I never played during it’s prime.

There were very specific ways to spawn trap players in Halo 2. you should watch old Karma vs Strongside 1v1s from like 05/06. I always remember slayer games with 4s being a little random with the spawn in H2 on that map. You gotta have a timer in your head for 5 second and if they don’t spawn where you expect based on your team positioning, do a 180.

I too want this playlist. games with NO RADAR and BR start w/o a secondary please! radar easily reduces the need for communication and teamwork by half. You can’t flank or run interesting routes with objectives. I have been playing the HCS playlist for this but only having 3 maps sucks, and Warlord is a little too dark for my liking. I would love this playlist to include H1 objective, H2C/H2A and Halo 3. that could really expand the map pool and give a ton of variety to the playlist.

Hardcore playlists never have the biggest population in them, but they have a consistent population for a long time. When halo 2 was almost dead, you could still get a game in Team Hardcore very quickly. It’s the competitive playlists that keep games alive.

I completely agree with the HCS playlist quickly becoming redundant because of the lack of maps and gametypes, but I do not want Halo CE in the hardcore playlist. That game is more suited for 2v2 rather than 4v4 play. H2C is another story, it would be nice to have some variety.

The part about competitive playlist keeping the games alive is absolutely true. Very late in Halo 3’s lifespan it was difficult to find a game in anything but Social Slayer, Team Slayer 50 high or MLG 50 high. The competitive players stay for the entire lifespan of the game, long after the more “casual” players have moved on to the next biggest and greatest game on the market, though I doubt Microsoft cares much about the longevity of the game. It’s all about sales sales sales.
