Ranks -have- to be visible to friends

That is all.

‘Thank’ my post if you agree, I just feel as if something this needed cannot go ignored. And in the slim chance it does, this thread could potentially remind 343.

There is literally no reason for this not to happen.

If this doesn’t happen, you’ll just see more lying between friends and generally unpleasant stuff, without all the fun bragging and friendly competition it could bring.

I agree with this. I already know of someone who is going to be lying to me if ranks are invisible to friends. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ranks are visible to everyone, I believe, but your TrueSkill “rank” is hidden. I think the TrueSkill doesn’t affect your visible rank.

Imagine Reach’s progression ranking system with an invisible Halo 3 1-50. But the Halo 3 number doesn’t mean anything except who you match with in MM.

now imagine Reach’s progression ranking system invisible also. XP farming/AFKers is now much lessened. both systems are flawed by boosters/cheaters.

if you hide one, you hide the other. if you show one, you show the other.

OT: Showing it to your friend’s list would just “promote randoms to F/R other players, see the rank, then buy the account” (I put quotes because that’s something Frankie would say…)

I fully agree, OP.

Of course, I’m still against the hiding of ranks in general.

Just make it like facebook where you can choose who can see your rank or not. Problem solved lol.

Should be an OPTION TO SHOW OR HIDE RANK

I like the current set-up. Gives other players an idea of how much experience a player has, without showing their entire hand.

People in Reach cared more about credits and armor than their ranks. In Halo 4, Spartan points buy weapons, armor mods, etc. while ranks unlock armor, so it’ll be boosted whether it’s visible or not.

This is probably the best and most simple solution to the whole visibility dilemma. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before. It takes away the trashtalking in MM that has supposedly been going on, but also allows for bragging rights and friendly competition to exist. It’s perfect!

I think they could make them visible to friends and to keep people from selling their accounts just make the rank deteriorate over time quite quickly, So say you have a 50 in TS if you don’t play and win every 5 days your level should decrease.

then if some noob kid buys a 50 within 2 weeks it will be low.

Honestly this sounds like a perfect solution to me.
