Guess what? I was watching the Halo 4 livestream and ranking system was confirmed. The reason that it is invisible is so that people don’t cheat with it.

Old news, go read the other posts on the subject. We know there is an invisible ranking system but the current argument is that we want it to be visible.

Can somebody please explain to me the point of invisible ranks? It’s like getting an invisible award for athletic achievement and having your coach tell you, “don’t worry son it’s there, we just don’t want anybody else getting jealous of your ability to play the game. I hope you’ll understand.”

What is the difference?? They look the same to me.
You have a service rank. Who cares about a visible skill ranking system if there is one at play anyway.
You will be matched with players of a similar skill level.
If you want to see their stats to get a better look, look at their service record.
Get over it.

Air does exist, because i inhale it. Sound does exist because i can hear it. Rank does not exist because i cannot hear it, smell it, touch it, or see it.

Actually you can measure all of those so you can say they exist.

Ranks were never intended as a reward, they were intended to match you with other people of the same skill. Invisible ranks do this just fine…
