Hey everyone, I just found out through a source within 343 Industries that they plan on releasing ranks and playlist updates on 04/10.
Playlist updates:
Team Halo 1 - parameters will be reset to 2v2.
Doubles - 2v2 Matches for Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 3
Team Ball - Oddball and Ricochet
Along with these playlist updates, ranks will go live for all intended playlists.
I would not advise posting details about a future update before 343I posts an official update. We call these leaks and they can be punishable through the legal system. Also if you are trolling, we do not like spam or trolls in these forums.

Hey Stealthy! This information is from my friend who works for 343i. He/she also told me the timeline is subject to change depending on the success of the next CU. If all goes well however, ranks will be released on 4/10.
Another month is far to long to wait for something that should’ve been there day one.
The populations already back down to low numbers, even after the latest patch.

Good thing that all future X1 consoles come bundled with MCC as of today… between that and stand alone buyers, population will be back up.

Where do you see population numbers when there isn’t a population counter in the game?

April 10th actually sounds about right. Most of this seems fairly legit. I figure a month in between content updates from now on. I am a bit nervous about “ranks will go live for all intended playlists”. The “intended” could only mean a couple ranked playlists. So whatever playlist is not ranked, might not be another month or more until others are ranked. Not sure if we will see 16 player BTB for along time, if ever. If they do introduce more ranks, hopefully those ranked playlists actually work properly.

Even if that was true, Halo CE with 2 vs 2 still sucks. I have thousands of games on CE, once a team holds a power weapon or controls a spawn it’s over. This can happen within the first 1-20 seconds. Prisoner and Derelict are the big ones that turn into gg right away. You can force random spawns but that’s about it.
Power weapons, OS and Iniz every 1:00 to 1:30 is a horrible way to play 2 vs 2, game is generally decided within the first 30 seconds.
2 vs 2 in H2C would be fine, they simply need to remove the sword from the maps, otherwise this becomes a huge camp feast just it did in H2 days.
Team Ball, doesn’t make any sense, there should be a full Objective gametype
Doesn’t matter, their ranking system already doesn’t work. 1s should never be matched with 50. It happens now, and will happen then.

how can we see populations??? there is no heat map

How can I believe this especially when you don’t know if your friend is a “he/she?” Also leaking information is bad regardless as it’s quite punishable regardless if people want to hear it or not.

Poster obviously doesn’t want to reveal the gender of the person leaking information if this is legitimate.
In less than a month, we will finally be able to enjoy the game the way it was intended. Only took 100+ days LOL
