Ranks are HIDDEN

As the title states, players ranks are hidden according to an article in Gameranx.

Gameranx Article

It doesn’t shed new light on the ranking systems in place and is visible only to the individual. Also, it doesn’t specify whether this applies to the “Skill-based system” and/or the “Progression based system”.

Please take this with a pinch of salt, as these sources are not always reliable, and finally, what are your views on this?

Yeh there is already a thread which includes this info.

Not really sure how to feel about hidden ranks…

This is great, because now there can be a system which resembles that of H2, or even H3. Fantastic!

I don’t see why this should apply to anything but the “skill” system.

I looked for a thread on this in the 5 most recent pages of posts, but I couldn’t see one. Maybe my eyesight isn’t perfect!

If there is a thread in full flow, I’m happy for this to be locked.

One thing I would say is that: players can’t base their improvement in comparison to other players. Is it the case that I am doing well because I’m a higher rank than other players in the game? Or am I performing well against players of higher rank?

Bad move. I don’t mind it much myself, but the reason people left Reach wasn’t really because of the gameplay, it was because of the ranking system being meaningless. Now, rank is almost nonexistent, so I unfortunately see players leaving the game very quickly after launch.

Well hopefully, this would be a matter for this presumed system to match up players. I don’t know, i just feel that this is a good way to decrease boosting while still being able to retain a proper skill system, like H2 or something similar to SC2 or whatever.

You seem to be pretty impressed

Which is a bad thing why? If someone would leave the game for the small of a thing I’d rather not have them around. I’d rather not hear them complain about that and other minuscule things.

I’d rather not have people wave their e-pride around. Not having visible rank is the smartest thing 343 has done yet.

this. is. stupid.

Also, you could choose between Male/Female in H3 too.

And none of those controller layouts will work for me, Hopefully I can customize every button.

I’ll be impressed when I see if this is final and the system that goes along with it does its job. =)

The article isn’t reliable. I also read from a guy who talked to Frank, and they said they were only trying this out, and it’s not confirmed yet.

I love it.

I’m ok with this.
