I was a platinum 1 now i lose a game why am i a gold six. I thought once u went to a new teir of rankings you didnt go back… Did they change it or wats goin on

They changed it. Its entirely possible to go down a tier.
This has been discussed almost every other hour and 343 made a note of it. It is now possible to derank.

People who say its dumb or a bad idea I disagree with. I would want to be downranked if I deserve it. I don’t want to face players who are beyond my skill level. Deranking helps with they. Bedsides if you truly don’t belong on a lower rank than it should be easy to climb the ladder…

Gonna have to step in and correct you here. The little image of your rank has NOTHING to do with who you are matched with. All of the calculations
E.g. If you were Platinum 1 (before you could derank) and you lost a ton, the system would claim you were in Plat 1 but would slowly start matching you with more and more Gold players. Skill rating/matching happens in the background.
I don’t mind that you can fall from a tier. Though it was certainly an unpleasant surprise when it first happened. But I feel like it should be harder. Like there is little more annoying than when my teammate and I make it into Onyx on Doubles, and then we run into a smurf/booster, and because we lost to an Onyx and a Silver (who is most certainly not a flippin silver) it shoots ya WAYYYY down. Obnoxious. But ya it’s certainly possible to get back. It’s just that it seems like whenever you are near a new plateau you get matched with much higher players, and it becomes far tougher.

If the matchmaking was working good then yes. But I had this happen to me.

Not saying the system isn’t flawed its actually very broken. But in a perfect world you should be deranked and then matched accordingly with players of the appropriate skill level.
Yes I agree.
I am 100% ok with ranking up and down tiers based on performance - it’s reflective of W/L - just the same as every other Halo title on XBL ever.
This is no comment on the fairness of who you match against or the quality of your team mates - completely different topics.

They just had a update where you can go down divisions now.

Extensive studying of division ranking systems, and personal conversations I’ve had with Jousha Menke, designer of H5’s rating system.
Im just sayin if i play with randoms and they are bad then i lose… Like your squad isnt always online so what are you suppose to do… I dont mind the deranking but if ur soloing it then your screwed

What if they are good and you win? No rank up either?
I’ve largely given up on the ranking for 4v4 lists and just care about my FFA results - I go random and get random results in teams

I’m surprised you can stomach FFA on US servers for that long. I reach breaking point after only a few games now.

It’s certainly not perfect but after 25k+ games on H3, HR, H4 & MCC I find that H5 isn’t that bad. I do get shot around corners, have Rockets that don’t shoot, get perfected by someone after only 3 shots but at least it is only me that I have to worry about. Almost back to Onyx 2000 again this season in FFA - onwards to Champion LOLOLOLOLOL
It’s probably been said before and I missed it. But this ranking system makes absolutely no sense. I can be a platinum 2 and get matched with people who are not even ranked yet. It happens all the time.
