As I’ve stated in the past, I’m primarily a PC gamer so it’s understandable that I don’t like the idea of paywalls blocking me from playing my games online. As such, the only real time I play online is when it’s on someone else’s Xbox who has Xbox Live.
Halo: Reach, unfortunately, punishes those who refuse to play the Matchmaking portions of the game with only about 50 Credits regardless of how long they play for. As Halo: Reach’s ranking system is designed to be time-consuming due to how many Credits you need to rank up, it’s understandable that playing Firefight for an hour only to be rewarded with a mere 50 Credits is quite frustrating.
As I used to play a lot of Halo years before I ever touched Xbox Live, I clearly remember earning thousands of Credits per game and, as most of us here should be aware, that was an intentional move by Bungie (likely to compensate for the lack of Matchmaking jackpots and challenges offline.)
Out of frustration, I made a 100% offline account (meaning an account that was not created over Xbox Live) and started grinding Firefight etc… As the amount of Credits earned with an offline account allows you to much more realistically reach the max rank than using an Xbox Live account offline, this is going to become my primary account while playing the game as I honestly despise trying to rank up with my Live account.

You can, but as soon as you try and take the account online it will be reset

What I do is this:
. Firefight
. Ten sets
. Legendary
. Invincibility
. Infinite ammo with bottomless clip
. Rocket launcher primary
. No drop ships
. All skulls on
. Hunters only
. Etc.
You’ll earn about 50 cR in an hour, though, so it’s very time consuming if you want to do this to level up entire ranks.

With BoundlessHalo97’s setting’s I would recommend Corvette as things spawn in super fast and relatively close with such a setup. Any other map you will find you have to goto it (The enemies) consistently or wait for it to come to you.
I originally didn’t have xbox live and played offline and ranked up a lot but once I got xbox live the amount of CR’s I received went down.
Sorry, despite you’re description and the other comments, I’m still confused. How is it exactly that a non-live account earns more than a live account?
