Firstly I am absolutely loving the multiplayer. I would like more maps and ranked playlists but I know that will come and the fundamental game play is outstanding.
So After my placement matches in the two modes I play I was placed in gold 1 and silver 1(yes yes not great).
Now After runs of wins and losses in each I am not moving at all. I just wanted to hear peoples experience on how quickly they are ranking up and down,
to me it feels as though once you get placed it will take a pretty extreme run to move. The fact there are 5 divisions for each tier I thought I would be bouncing around every 5 matches or so.
Also does ranking up purely go off win/loss ratio? or is it based on KDR accuracy etc?
I am also curious as to how/when you rank up. I have been placed as Platinum 1 in slayer but I haven’t seen a change yet in either direction.
343 explained that, like halo2, you can only rank up if your team wins and you will rank down if your team loses. What’s not been explained is whether or not your personal performance will have an effect on how far up or down you rank after a match.
Im assuming that, again like halo 2, each rank within the tier requires a certain amount of CSR gained from winning a match to go up, or conversely CSR lost from losing a match to rank down.
the thing not explained at least I haven’t seen is how much csr is between each rank on the tier, or how much csr you get from winning and how that is calculated. In h2 you just got/lost csr based on a comparison of your rank against your opponents ranks, regardless of your personal performance. In other words if you and a friend had the same rank and you win a game but you finished negative and he finished positive you would both receive the same amount of CSR towards ranking up. So my question for h5 is: yes u only rank up if you win, but do you get more car for doing really well or is it still just based on ur rank vs the rank of ur opponents?
Personally I ranked platinum 1 in slayer and after winning 2 games ranked to platinum 2. However since then I’ve literally been winning one losing one playing with randoms so I’ve yet to see what it will take to get to the 3.
I suspect that playing vs unplaced players does not affect rank, so maybe what we need is to wait for most of the community to get ranked.
20 games in now on breakout on my brothers account and he hasn’t changed either after an 8 win streak at silver 1!
I was ranked a Gold 1 in SWAT while my buddy was ranked Onyx right off the bat. Him and I grinded the next day and I started the day off at Gold 2 already with a win under my belt and we then went on an eleven game win streak and I got up to Gold 4 maybe 5. It took us the rest of the day to finally get me up to Plat 3, and he’s almost at champion level. And the funny thing is, is that I end up doing better than him and destroying other Onyx/Diamond players that we were get matched with. But I’m still in Plat…while he’s on his way to Champion. All I know is that when I finally reach Onyx, I’m going to have to go through the same experience all over again just to catch up to my friend…

Same here, but at some point it was 2 win in a row equals rank up and 2 losses in a row equal rank down. But there were times when we won multiple and i never went up, same with my friend in Onyx, but the moment we lost a game, both our ranks went down?
