hey folks

I usually don;t make hate/complain topics, so I am going to try to make this as neutral as I can.

I feel like the Matching system is… not the best. I used to be a 43 in H3 so I’d like to think im a decently skilled player.
The last weeks since I got halo I have been playing arena slayer, and I enjoy it. I was placed into gold 1 and I quickly made it to G4.
The issue that I have is that I cannot seem to get into platinum, because the system consitently matches me with players who are at least half a division higher than I am.
to emphasize this even further, I cannot recall ever playing against people who are in a similiar level. every single match I am playing against ( and with) people who are plat 3 or even up to diamond 4. Now I know i’m no Tsquared so I don’t mind losing to someone simply because they are better. I however am starting to get pretty annoyed that I am constantly getting demoted out of gold 5 because I play against people who are better than I am, and I for one do not think I should be demoted for being beaten by people who are so much better than I am.
I though the ranking system was about playing vs people of your skill level and if you win, you could advance to higher divisions, a little like League Of Legends’s ranking.

do any of you have similiar problems? or know how/why this happens?

Your issues are with the matching system, not exactly the ranking system. Would seem the matching is kind of loose with skill matching.

I actually can’t understand why quali-players (2 lvl with first game in a row) should play in gold-platinum teams versus platinum-dimond! It shouldn’t be possible, it’s not fair for their team and for themselves.

has anyone else noticed they are “punished” for a winning streak by the matchmaking. Its happened more than once and did again last night. I fireteamed up with a pair of randos and run won probably 6 of 7 games. went up to platinum 5 in swat. then this morning I played solo and was only paired with scrubs. I had gold an plat 1 team mates and lost EVERY SINGLE GAME until I was back down to plat 2. we played teams with diamonds and onyx.

I don’t see the problem here? If you are playing well the system will try match you higher to see if you can hang with tougher opponents. If you then get destroyed it’s a key indicator that your not ready yet for that division advancement.

I understand moving up and down the system, I hung at plat 4 for quite a while. Id win a few then lose one or two. but try losing Every game for hours. Theres no reason to put golds on my team while playing full teams of diamond. Thats sandbagging you so you get creamed. It wasnt that I was playing so far above my skill level thay I was causing the losses.
