the ranking system sounds stupid…why cant we have a basic system like halo3? I hate these elaborate systems that people can get high skills in Its not right and boring. Also my selling point for halo5…which i learned on mcc im not preordering
Not too much has been revealed about the ranking system
Base on this Twitter post
I assume that the 7 teirs have subranks in them, For base example…if 1 was the lowest and 7 was the highest.
Based on your skill in winning games or how well you do in a game, your rank (starting from the lowest) you would progress in a fashion of, 1.1 - 1.2 - 1.3…1.9 - 2.0
It’s difficult to say as not too much info has been revealed.
Also, I suggest you hold off on comments that condemn something you don’t entirely understand until you fully understand it.

I don’t understand.
…Because Halo 3 had a lot of inherent problems…?
It’s being worked on by the guy who made the league of legends ranking system, remember that.
The amount of Exp or whatever should simply be based on your performance in the past game, but there should be also something so that people who have been playing since launch aren’t still at Staff Sergeant 1 year later. Halo 5 needs to keep a healthy online population.
Its the same as League of legends ranking system which is one of the most popular games if not THE most popular and also this ranking system was asked for ever since Halo 3.

I’m guessing you don’t like derankings? Rank shouldn’t be about how much xp you get or k/d ratio, it should be based on current skill, we don’t need 5 year olds that happen to play alot of games and get little to no kills, be the highest rank just purely based on how many games they played

De-ranking, account selling, cheating, glitching… One could go on.

Quite frankly if you’re a Staff Sergeant after a year of playing you really don’t deserve to be any higher.

Oh god… this is the reason why we don’t have 1-50 ranking system.
Did you, in any way, feel the impact of someone selling their account? And if so, how do you suggest that another ranking system can improve upon that? In H5, say I reached pro… I could just sell that account, couldn’t I? It’s completely unavoidable, and people to this day still pay for accounts in LoL.
“glitching” eh? Are you sure you aren’t talking about Halo 2? Because THAT had some serious glitching issues. I have played thousands of H3 games, and never once been “glitched”
Cheating is pretty vague, and I don’t know how one would cheat. Glitching perhaps? Oh wait, I already adressed that.
De-ranking/boosting were pretty much the only problems with the Halo 3 ranking system. That’s pretty good, in my opinion.
The system is similar to the 1-50 except it groups ranks into tiers. I don’t see the problem.

I don’t know how you missed this considering your link was almost accurate since the url provided below goes in to a lot more detail then the one you provided.
