That’s not the ranking, that’s the matching system.
But why dont you get put with Gold 6’s
The Unranked people probably won a few of their games so the matching system put them in your rank area to see where they will best be placed. As for Diamond it could be that the guy was with a gold or platinum friend which brought him into your game.

Less strict search criteria in terms of looking for similarly ranked players in order to decrease search times.
Low population in said rank range.
People of varying ranks partying up.
Connection qualities to dedicated servers.
There are quite a few things the algorithm take into consideration.
