I was wondering if the community could help me understand how 343i come to our rank after 10 games??? Before it was reset I was diamond 1 in free for all and platinum 1 in slayer and gold in breakout…now in the first two I’m gold 6 ffa and gold 1 in slayer but I got roughly a 1 to 1 kd spread in the ranking games so any help explaining it would be useful thanks
As far as I know its goes off wins plus individual performance in the games as well. I partied up with three randoms the other night in arena, over some games which we won one guy placed plat one and the other guy placed diamond 4. They had played together all night win and loses the same but the diamond guy was consistently scoring higher.
I think they nerfed the algorithm because I was onyx in FFA and I got plat 6 after matching
They used to give out high level rankings too easily.
It’s based most heavily on how many times you win in your rank-determining games. It’s based VERY LITTLE on individual performance. I’ve had amazing personal games that I’ve lost and still seen my rank determine afterwards. I think playing really well yourself decreases the amount your rank drops after a loss, but I don’t think you can play well enough for your rank to increase after a loss.
It’s also determined based on the quality/ranks of the players you play during your rank-determining games. If you win against a few diamond players then that suggests you may belong up in that tier.
So the higher the other team was the better your rank could of been then?? What does annoy me is…when someone quits on your team and you go close to 1/1 kd your rank goes down. Its something that 343 needs to look at as its not fair😡
It’s been changed. I was Onyx in my last playlists. I finally got around to placing again the other day. I play my first 10 games, I lose 4 out of the 10, acquire over 200 kills and only like 80 deaths, I’m a top performer in every game and get 30+ in two of the games.
…I’m ranked gold. GOLD.
The first 10 placement matches take into effect wins/losses, personal stats, and most importantly (which people seem to completely look over when they complain about ranks), who you play against. I see all too often people complaining that they won 9/10 games with a good k/d and getting put gold or platinum. What they don’t seem to get is that they were most likely winning against gold players and losing to diamond so even though they won 9 games there is no reason they should be put in diamond or Onyx.
