I’ve done the qualifiers for the slayer playlist, my final stats are:
1,24 K/D / 1,5 W/L / 56 ASSISTS / 42 HEADSHOTS - Got PLATINUM 6 as tier.
My teamate got these stats:
1.067 K/D / 1,5 W/L / 44 ASSISTS / 41 HEADSHOTS - Got DIAMOND 2 as tier.
We played all our qualifiers together aswell.
How does this crap work???
It depends how you perform against certain players… If you go bad against diamonds, but good against gold… you’ll be ranked as plat. Your friend goes good with diamonds, and he’ll be a diamond.
It is not only your average statts that will qualifie you…
Well we know it takes into account the damage dealt, k/d and also who you were playing against but if i remember right it also remembers your prior performance in the game like your prior ranks and what not from earlier seasons
I also think it depends on your accuracy and the amount of damage you have dealt. Did you make a double kill against good players? Or had a assist spree? All these things are with it i think…
he killed more players than me, but he also died more brainlessly than me, and I don’t think he took down the top tiers in the enemy teams more than me.
He might have had more damage dealt tho since he rushes into combat alone a little to often…
I mean should he be awarded with a greater rank cuz he plays more carelessly?
What happened to “brothers in arms”? Don’t hate your brother, congratulate him. Use him as inspiration to try harder and make your way up the ranks this season. There’s 24 days left to make it to the top.
Platinum 6 and Diamond 2 are only 2 ranks apart, chances are your on the verge of hitting Diamond 1.
You have a win percentage of nearly 60% in team slayer and a 1.2 K/D (Well done!) which means you are on the rise, you want to get to the skill bracket that will land you at around 50% win/loss which would probably be high Diamond or Onyx for you I imagine.

Medals most likely count as well so lets say all of his kills were sniper headshots, assassinations etc and all of yours were spray and pray with the SMG than he’ll do better

Do you? Because I don’t. Do you happen to have a source on this?
Don’t try to understand it. It makes very little sense and more often than not the ranking system fails to accurately indicate a player’s skill level. My January rank in Team Arena was Gold 6, and I couldn’t break through to Platinum 1. This season I’m somehow ranked Diamond 1, as if over the course of a couple of days I somehow got so much better at the game that I could skip Platinum entirely. CSR was inaccurate in Halo 2, Halo 3, and is now inaccurate in Halo 5. I wouldn’t worry too much about it if I were you. I stopped caring and now I have a lot more fun in Arena playlists 
I could have sworn things like:
-Win/loss comparatively to opponents rank
-amount of people actually ranked

I congratulated him and I am very happy for his placement, but he also agrees with me that it’s funny how I didn’t made it to diamond during the qualifying meanwhile he reached diamond 2.
