i’ve had a difficult time with this… I feel like the ranking system is a joke and let me explain MY OPINION… I personally miss the Halo 3 ranking system. I had something to strive for and achieve! Can I reach 50 and if you did it was based on you earning it and your skill. I think with Halo 5 being an arena type multiplayer it would have fit perfectly. I get some players may not like that ranking system for whatever reason but I feel like it can bring more of a competitive feel back. At least in BTB, Slayer, Doubles and Other popular Arena playlists…343 you can keep Warzone the same, and still have the REQ system in place but please consider Halo 3 Ranking System for Arena maybe make some Social Playlists for fellow players you just want to play and not worry about rank. Hope you guys agree and let’s make this happen!!!

I’m more interested in social playlists than ranked playlists, but I wouldn’t mind a better ranking system.
The 50 has just been replaced with champion and onyx. Strive for onyx. This system fixes almost all of the issues which broke the Halo 3 system
The Halo 3 ranking system is my favorite, but it still had major flaws. Ranking up once you reach 47 took either an immense amount of luck or alot of straight wins, which is difficult when all you’re playing against are legit 50s. I still remember the game I got my 50, it took 14 (I believe) straight wins to move from 49-50. It seemed to be completely random as to when it decided to rank people up who were high in the ranks.

Its not at all the same. Not even close. It took me about a year to get to 50 in Halo 3. I can get Onyx in under 2 hours…

Well people could get to 50 in a weekend and then sold the account. You weren’t a 50 when you started playing. It removes the issue of higher ranked players having to play against lower ranked players. All 50’s had to be a 10 for at least one game. Ranking systems are designed so that you should only be playing with people near your skill level. In halo 3 this was only true for the people at the top, whereas the people at the bottom had to deal with all the alt accounts and random better players just starting the game. Also onyx is not the top. You can’t complain about it being two easy to get to a level when you can’t get to the top. Halo 3 also had rank lock which this game doesn’t because of seasons. Ranking systems primary goal is to ensure that players play with people of their skill level. The tiers are not meant to be bragging rights (except champion)
Surprisingly it seems many people would be against this. As of now people are upset that the system focuses mainly on your win/loss ratio to increase your rank, they all seem to want a system that focuses on personal score instead of wins/losses which is all the 1-50 system was. No i personally dont really see the difference between the two systems, the only main one is that the current system places you in a rank according to your base skill, it than wants you to improve and move up from there. Basically instead of starting at 1 and going to 50, if your good enough you can start at 15 or 20 and go to 50. I prefer this system because it is less likely for people with a higher base skill to be matched with people of a lower based skill.
