Ranking system is unfair!

I’m a fan of halo multiplayer but halo 5’s is a joke, from what I’ve played it’s not fair at all, I don’t want to be forced to play competitively all the time, I’m not a competitive person, I’ve been ranked in platinum, I know it’s based on wins but it seems that I get put in games with people that wreck me constantly, it’s not fun for me! Yes there is warzone and it’s more casual and less competitive but still with only 3 maps it’s boring to play, we need an un-ranked playlist or at least I would like to see one so I can actually have fun playing this game

I think I could agree. I’m Diamond Rank in Slayer and it is not that fun. I usually stick to Warzone Assault right now, I find it much more enjoyable… for the most part.

Playing competertive is fun and social is just a bunch of people killing other people on ur team

“Halo 4 is too casual! Halo 5 better be far more competitive!”

343i proceeds to release the most competitive Halo title in 11 years

“What the hell is this?! THIS GAME IS TOO COMPETITIVE WHAT HAPPENED TO SOCIAL HALO?!”

First of all, they’ll be here soon, nothing has changed.

Second of all, we can’t all get what we want.

People don’t all share the same opinion on how competitive Halo should be. People aren’t flip flopping their opinion, it’s just different people complaining. I think that the addition of an unranked playlist would be very good. It is currently too focused on competitive game play, but if there is a social playlist coming that is great.

competitive is the best way to die instantly as soon as you spawn

The problem is the arbitrarily assigned rank you are given after your first 10 matches. It’s NOT based on wins. Whoever believes that garbage is a fool. I did worse in Team Arena than Slayer and I got Gold in Team Arena and Bronze in Slayer. Now, I wreck on Slayer until half my team quits and cases my rank to go down. Now I’m stuck in Bronze with all the scrubs and quitters.

Some people win two matches and have a negative k/d and get Diamond/Platinum. It’s not based on wins.

I agree. Historically I’ve only really played big team, socially, with my friends. People say that Warzone is there to replace it, but Warzone is nothing like BTB. Warzone is so obviously pay to win that it hurts me to play. I haven’t gotten lucky with Reqs and still don’t have a BR or DMR, making it impossible for me to compete late game. Plus they have taken all aspects of Arena gameplay out of it. You don’t fight for power weapons and you don’t have consistent access to vehicles. I have always gravitated to BTB for the sandbox and map design. I don’t necessarily enjoy the fact that there are more people on each team, I just like driving a Warthog around with my friends, and 4v4 doesn’t offer that. In Halo 5, nothing offers that.

I am better than my friends at the game (I’m Platinum and they are all Silver for the most part), and when we play Arena together they get dragged into my ranking tier so we get beaten all the time. The ranking system is actually working against me and my friends having fun together and I hate it.

To be fair, everyone I know is matched against people of their own level. I don’t really see many people getting completely butchered by one super pro player. I like it so far - but I’m only in platinum on 2 playlists, haven’t qualified in the others. So far, I say it works great.

I can’t understand how I got into Diamond 1 for Arena on the Team playlist. I haven’t played any further games since the threshold for qualifying for CSR and originally had no idea what Diamond 1 even meant. It seems to be relatively high, based on the web page I just skimmed through which seems rather amusing to me. Out of the ten games required, I think I had one, maybe two decent games personally and overall pretty sure I lost more than I won. A bit nonsensical. I presume I can move down if I lose too many.

Time will tell whether this has been unfair to me or not.

I haven’t even jumped into the competitive mode out of fear I’d just die over and over. I stick to Warzone but it would be cool if there were some other modes I could get into.

Ranking is based on wins once you actually have a rank. You can’t drop down from Diamond, only within Diamond. So, you win to go up to Diamond 2, Diamond 3, etc… But you can never drop lower than Diamond 1. Your initial ranking is not based on wins, so if you’re randomly (and it is random) placed into a rank tier out of your skill level, you’re out of luck. Too high and you get wrecked. Too low and you’ll never rank up due to quitters.

So what you’re saying is: you’re screwed ;). Nah, I don’t mind really.

A social playlist would be welcome.

Sometimes, I just want to get -Yoink- faced drunk and play Halo. I’m gonna do that anyway, it’s just very painful for my team and my CSR and my k/d in a competitive playlist.

This really depends on game mode and play style.

I think the ranking system will be better but it currently seems like its not functioning optimally. After playing all of my placement games I got onyx in 3 playlists and platinum in two. To me it is too easy to get placed into onyx, but maybe this isn’t the case for everyone.

My main concerns with the ranking systems are:

  1. Ranks are not visible in fireteam lobbies/ matchmaking without going to that persons service record etc. People work hard at getting their ranks and want to show it off :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

  2. I am not matching with people in my division… why am I playing lower ranked players? Onyx should not be matching against unranked or gold level opponents… Seems pointless to have a ranking system where everyone just plays everyone, why have one in the first place then?

I have a -7 KD and I got placed in gold. FML. 7 out of my 10 qualifiers I got carried by my team and now I’m stuck up here. I’m below average still but a little less so than before I guess.

lolwat. It’s not random. Their placement algorithms are just crap, a problem compounded by the terrible idea of not letting people drop out of divisions.

They really need to allow people the option to demote themselves a league if they are overranked. It would also be nice to put K/D in the CSR when you have a rank so it isn’t as luck based if you are underranked.
